New Here, Thinking of Purchasing a G

Hello everyone, i am considering the purchase of a 2005 G35C 6MT. Whats the average pice people are paying, base, no additional options? Any dislikes?
Is it better getting a used one vs. a new one? When rebadging, does the JDM Nissan emblem fit directly into the USDM grille?

what you've asked is in like 5 other threads ... so i suggest you read the others as most people won't post again.

i think a lot of people are getting VPP (invoice + 1% approx), and others are getting (MSRP - $800) so there is variation depending on your situation.

i don't know about likes and dislikes as i don't have mine yet. i kind of dislike the interior, especially the center console ... but that is personal taste.

Hey JDM. First of all, good luck in finding a stipper G35 coupe with no options. Just about every coupe comes minimum with tire upgrade or premium package. If you really want no options at all, you'll have to special order it but it could take months for you to get your car.

In my opinion, its not worth buying a used G since they keep their value so well, your better off getting a new one rather than getting a small discount on a used one. And trust me, all the used G's out there have not been driven nice. Also, I've had an 03 and an 04 coupe and I can tell you that the 03's had so many issues with them. The long list of TSBs is evidence of that. My 04 is much better but still some issues. I'm sure most of them have been worked out for 05.

About your question of price, I got $2100 off MSRP when I bought my 04 but it was their end of 04 clearance time. Here in SoCal, most people are paying $500 - 1000 below MSRP on new 05s cause the inventory here is pretty good. If you live in an area where Gs are scarce, then you may have to shell out closer to MSRP.

Good luck.

Selling my 07/03 build 04 G35coupe 6MT soon. I never had a single problem with her. My Z already has more problems and I've only had it for two weeks!

Damn, I am so sorry to hear about that, but I feel your pain. I just got rid of my 2003 Z with tons of problems for the 2005 G35 Coupe. And yes, you can get a base car because thats what mine is. Try searching infiniti's websites and you should be able to find a base somewhere. Keep in mind that the 05 manuals are not really out with the exception of a few cars. They won't be released til January making it hard to find a base until then.

Hey JDM,

I love mine. It took me a week to get used to the brakes, but that is OK. I don't know if you need a back seat or not, but it is useful at least to me. My 3 year old fits there just right Infinity, thank you for making that seat.

Not sure on the price of the new one. I got a 03 used this April. Some doctor had it and then decided to sell it. I can see where ck700sl might be coming from on the used car treatment. But he is forgeting that some of us do not drive like that. If I was buying a car from some 20 year old I would think twise. But I knew who ownde my car, they, dealer, forgot to take the prior owner info out . Car was in perfect shape. And I saved about 9K vs. new car. With family and two motorcycles I could not afford a new one.
Price depends on the market and your location. Here in Chicago, I don't think there is such a thing as buying this car under invoce.

Also, when you say base. I think that there is no such a thing as base in G35

Take your time. It took me 2 month to find mine.

Thanks everyone for the replies! I dont mind waiting a few months for a special ordered one. By base I mean a 6MT with standard features, not additional options/packages. I was in Warren Henry Infiniti (Hollywood,FL) yesterday, inquiring on an '05, and in short, I am gonna take my business elsewhere. First... I asked a salesman 'do you by any chance have ANY G35 Coupes 6MT on the lot, used or new '04, that I can drive'... he says no... Second... he tells me I 'HAVE TO' order the G with packages, that I 'CANNOT' order one base, just with the standard options. He then proceeds to try and make me look stupid by asking his manager if they can be ordered base, just to have him tell me that they can order it base, I just have to wait a while ... so as the other guy was a total moron, I asked him again 'do you by any chance have ANY G35 Coupes 6MT on the lot, used or new '04, that I can drive', he rudely tells me yeah of course, we have one '04 left. As he told me that, I just walked out and left the brochure behind.

My message to Warren Henry Infiniti:

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS!! THATS QUITE THE WAY TO EARN CUSTOMERS!! HELLO SOUTH MOTORS INFINITI...

That doesn't surprise me as most dealerships are like that. I am also located in Florida so if you don't mind the phone call or drive call Devoe Infiniti in Ft. Myers Florida. Ask for Pete in sales. Very easy to work with and no BS on completeing the deal.

Thanks Lips, I am about an 1 1/2 hours from Ft. Myers. I was disgusted with the service at that dealer. It was as if I walked in there wearing a giant sign that said 'IM AN @$$HOLE'. I just can't see how they can treat people who are willing to fork over $34k+ like that. Anyone else who is considering a purchase of a G I'll save you the aggrevation, and don't purchase from Warren Henry Infiniti.

Damm man what's wrong with the Z now?!?! I already have a prob with my M3 LOL, my traction light is on and i think it might be disabling the whole traction system so now i have a problem! Well basically its too low to get up and down my driveway, so i had to make a boarded bridg/ramp to get past the steep angle going into my driveway, it was suppose to gett repaved so i can get my stock wheels on but it snowed and there is ice and snow at the bottom so it looks like thats not getting done which mean it cant go to BMW to get the traction fixed lol, im in a mess so its just sitting in my damm garage! I was so unprepared!

Anyway sorry for hijacking, good luck finding a no option G35 lol, you can find a fully loaded one i bet for the price you want to pay, they are dropping in value like mad (Not a good thing) and some arent beat on, ive never had one problem with my G, its a great car! I just dont like the interior noises and creaks or w/e, but i def loosened all of that up with my driving haha!
