So I was driving home last night and noticed a strange noise my car was starting to make. Sounds like a rattling coming from the right drivers side (under the hood). It goes away and comes back at random times when driving slowly. The idle also sounds a little funny.
The check engine light went on a few minutes after I noticed this which is when it started to worry me.

Anyone have any ideas?

Im also at 59,3xx miles so could the light just be telling me to get my 60k service done?

 

My oil light also goes on when I hit my brakes hard.

It only seems to make the noise when in low rpms (under 2k) and it randomly does it

 

Have you checked to see if your low on oil?

 

I just checked, I think i'm actually a little above on oil.

if you check engine or oil light is flashing then stop driving immeditely and get it checked out. lights staying on mean you have a prob, flashing lights mean u have a serious prob

 

Neither light flashes. The oil light just goes on for like a second when I hit my brakes hard, like the oil in the car is shifting forwards. Then once it settles it goes back off.
I'm changing my oil soon anyway so it should fix that.

I need advice as to what the noise could be.

 

take an OBD 2 reading and see what the codes are about

 

I dont have one of those. Until I can go to the shop does anyone know what the noise may be
