I usually would't respond to threads like these but, in this one some people are so misinformed.

Like Alf said, how can you make lemonade out of oranges. The parts are not high quality oem parts or high quality aftermarket parts. I can vouch for the lack of quality of ings fenders from personal experience. You would think they would be better coming from a "reputable company" they are known for. I installed mine myself and had to use a lot of spacers, cutting, drilling to just even get the fitment decent, very time consuming. I no longer have those fenders.
Poly is Not an easy product to work with as compared to fiberglass. Sure you can heat it up and it may change shape a bit, but who is to say that it won't change shape again after a few hot summer days in So Cal ? When a product doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. Adding material to Poly can be done, but it is more expensive and more time consuming than fiberglass.

Those side skirts came with no mounting hardware, and there is really no way to make an aftermarket side skirt mount like an oem one. I believe using those screws ( those are defiantly not wood screws) are not what made them wavy. If they were proper fitting side skirts, the screws would be just to hold them up. I have seen Several poor fitting side skirts in my time, where there is a huge gap between the skirt and the rocker panel. So when you screw them down to close the gap, the material is pulled to the rocker panel and what you are left with is a wavy finish. Being that they are in the door jamb, some people do not care that much how the finish is, so they do not complain. No way would 3M double stick tape be able to secure them for a very long time. With improper fitting parts there is too much stress on the tape. After some car washes, rainy days, and extreme hot days, the tape will let go.

Estaban is a very reasonable person, so it is good the see the OP willing to work things out. No need for anyone to bash and say it is time for a lawyer.

The cars that people speak of that come out of the shop that are show cars, usually bring in high quality parts to begin with. Since they are building show cars, they usually do buy better quality parts to begin with.

After 6 pages of replys my only hope is that they do a better job when he gets it back. What does the quality of parts have to do with matching the paint? That was the first thing he mentioned in this thread....maybe they farmed his car out to a lesser body shop since they normally do high quality "Show Cars!"

yeah, i had figured the original poly skirts were going to have a bad fit but he told me they fit fine. I would have been happy to buy more initially.

yes, they came with no mounting hardware, so instead of using the proper body panel adhesive like this http://www.levineautoparts.com/semmupaad.html, lets just use self tapping screws...one here, one up a little higher here, one a few inches farther away here and a couple closer together here. oh, and some people don't mind it since you can't see it when the door is closed, so it's ok. why make excuses for **** poor work, and why should he pay for new side skirts when the shop ruined the first set that were perfectly fine?

There should not be any excuse of whether the parts were poor quality or not. The professionals should have told the client that it was going to turn out sh*tty before taking his money and then return the car in the condition it was in. All this talk about reputable shop... I am not convince. It should have been done right the first time. God bless you that your so patient and imperturbable. Good luck And thanks for posting this I will never be taking my hard working money to this place even if my parts are poor quality. I'm sorry you had to deal with this so much time wasted.

Gisele. U are in Florida . I'm pretty sure u won't be bringing ur car to California anyhow..

All of these cars have been painted by Auto Explosion.. I'm pretty sure the issue here is the spacing on the screws..

Everyone makes mistakes, both u and I. EVERYONE..

It's not like the company is running away from fixing this issue. .. The issue has been brought up and has been addressed.

You've been a member less than a month and half of ur posts are about talkin trash. Why don't u contribute to this forum in a positive way before acting like a douche right from the get go. Leads me to believe that u may be someone else hiding behind a different screename..

Contribute something.

OP car is back at Auto Explosion, has bought new side skirts from BAUS Auto, and is being taking Care of...

Let's see how it plays out..

Yes I am in Florida. You are right, I most likely will never go there. The point is that if I were to live there or if I knew anyone how can I ever recommend them to go there; I would not take my car there especially after this. So much time has been wasted. They should have done it right the first time. The car looked incommensurate. From the pictures, it wasn't one thing wrong it was Many. I'm sure in the end the shop will fix it and make it look perfect but this could have been easily avoided.

How do u know if the OP poster was rushin the shop to get his car done or not.? Do u know all the details of went down.? Take the job u do. If u were given the wrong supplies, tools, etc.. Could u make it work.?? What do u do.? I haven't seen an introduction thread. I haven't seen ANY pictures.. Do u even own a G35..?? Or are u just another lurker that trolls several forums and talks crap about things u don't know about..

You haven't even introduced yourself and added a picture of your car, but u are quick to bash a reputable shop that has multiple show cars and magazine covers that come out of it.. Yes, even reputable shops make mistakes. Who the "F" doesn't.?? Are they not normal people.? Did the OP pick up the car and drive it away.? Why didn't he inspect it.? It would have taken care of the issues right there and then.

Let's see your car that u would never take here.

I have taken my car here and have been treated well. I will be goin back here soon for some custom work for a reasonable price..

I was recently there and I saw the Best of Show winner from Hot Import Nights there getting MORE work done. This very same G35 is the red 750rwhp car that is on top of your screen right now..

I'm defending this shop cuz they are good, honest people. Yes, I've had work done there. Yes, I'm going back. I'm sorry this happened to the OP but it's being taking care of.

This isn't a shop that is hiding from the OP. It's being fixed.

^just to clarify I did not rush them at all. I was originally quoted 3 weeks and it actually took like 5. I didn't complain or rush em at all. Also I was in a super big rush because i was going to go check out a house and make an offer. I had much bigger things distracting me, I noticed the gap in the hood but did not see the side skirts till I got home and I did call them back. But yes. Things are in the process of resolution. Lets see how they play out.

Rushed? Dude said his car was there for over a month! Even if the car was done right, it shouldn't have taken that long. I would have expected what he got to have taken 3 days. Maybe this shop is just so overwhelmed with all these "show" cars that they don't have the time to properly put into the average joe's cars. Maybe that's why it takes them 5 weeks to do a job that shouldn't have taken 2 weeks. Or maybe they just don't have a grasp on how to efficiently schedule their clients and the car got stuck with a noob installer.

^this for sure. The part that gets me is that the op has to buy new sides since they don't want to fix the sides they screwed up.

so they are finished with the car, im going to pick it up thursday. he said that there will still be screws on the side of the side skirts and that they all have to be installed this way. can anyone confirm? do all people with aftermarket side skirts have screws visible when the doors are opened?
