Got my Car back from Auto Explosion. Mixed reviews

So I was excited to pick up my car today from Auto Explosion after it had been there for a month. I had some custom work done on my bumpers because I wanted a one off look. Here are the pics of the result. they did a good job, the paint is a smidge off but I dont mind that much..

Now heres the bad part. Gaps galore. hood does not fit right with the grill at all. theres gaps on the fenders as well as the side skirts. Also the side skirts were all just screwed in with all screws exposed.... the hood is gapped so much I can actually stick a finger in betwen the top of the grill and the hood. Also there is a hole for the grill that is completely out of line. the clip will not even go in if i try to force the grill into place.... I have already told them about it but I was in a rush today to go do some errands and I was already late so I paid in full to get my car. Probably a mistake thinking back. I had expected them to perfect the fitments so I am pretty upset about that, and the side skirts with the exposed screws... I asked him if the side skirts had good fitment because they had been sitting in my garage for like 2 years and he said they were fine. I would have been more than happy to just buy another set if the existing ones were warped... didnt expect the screws...

Also I had wanted some custom work on the spoiler as it overhangs on the lip of the trunk and I didnt like it so I wanted them to cut it off from the edge to make it not overhang, they didnt do that, they just moved it back and filled in the bottom so it essentially raised the height of the spoiler which I really do not like.... idk, one end im happy with parts of the work, on the other I am pretty upset. Dont know what I should do. Dont think they will redo the spoiler, not sure what they will do about the side skirts and hood fitment.... i think the gap is actually caused by the front bumper but I would have assumed they would test fit everything to make sure it as all good before painting..... Everytime I went, all of the parts were off the car, never saw all of it pieced together, hood, skirts, fender.. so i never got a chance to see the gaps and fitment. on some of the front bumper its squished up really tight and looks a little off as well...

with all the praise and trophy cars AE puts out I guess I was expecting perfect fitment and quality..

I like the front, the rear my look better in person, not diggin the fenders though. Was the car hit? (I ask b/c the gaps) Do you plan on getting wheels?

the gaps are from the authentic ings fenders, they dont fit well and I guess require a good amount of work to get them to fit perfectly. Yeah I will be getting wheels later. Not sure about the fenders either though. still mulling it over. I've had em for quite a while so I decided to get em installed while getting the other work done.

The fenders would flow better with a drop and wheels. Its not bad overall but I cant tell with all that wheel gap lol. Drop it and some nice wheels, you will then forget about the gaps.

for the rear, this is actually how i pictured it, just a little thinner at the top. eh, maybe I will have them modify it again.. idk.

grr that spoiler is pissing me off more and more as i look at it. its not supposed to be angled that high and it looks weird as **** when it is.

The rear is nice in that pic. But believe me, when you have some tires showing in that shot, the rear will look aggressive.

There is no excuse for the wood screws on the side skirts. Reminded me of the body shop horror story on My350z.

Either the fitment on the kit is off, or the workmanship of the shop is questionable IMO. Can't imagine why anyone who specializes in car modifications where reputation is such a big deal would seemingly rush a job like that.

I could live with the other inperfections but those wood screws are just too much for me. And yes, I remember that thread when some other shop did something similar, I didn't think I would see that again, not with a G35!

hmm, i wonder if its the kit. ShanesG has the same AIT front bumper, mine is just modified and from this picture it looks like it has the same gap. I would have assumed the shop would have fixed it though....

can anyone else with the AIT bumper comment on the fitment and whether or not theres a gap between the hood and grill?

take your car back. talk to esteban or his son damien and they should take care of you. hood fitment can be adjusted within reason (sides depends on how good the aftermarket fenders fit, front is easier - just adjust the rubber stops) and i'm sure they can come up with some cleaner looking fasteners for the sides.
