I have a couple screws on my FG INGS sides, wherever the stock clips were. Mine are colormatched though, so you can't see them at a glance.

Or are u just another lurker that trolls several forums and talks crap about things u don't know about..

You haven't even introduced yourself and added a picture of your car, but u are quick to bash a reputable shop that has multiple show cars and magazine covers that come out of it.. Yes, even reputable shops make mistakes. Who the "F" doesn't.?? Are they not normal people.? Did the OP pick up the car and drive it away.? Why didn't he inspect it.? It would have taken care of the issues right there and then.

Let's see your car that u would never take here.

I have taken my car here and have been treated well. I will be goin back here soon for some custom work for a reasonable price..

I was recently there and I saw the Best of Show winner from Hot Import Nights there getting MORE work done. This very same G35 is the red 750rwhp car that is on top of your screen right now..

I'm defending this shop cuz they are good, honest people. Yes, I've had work done there. Yes, I'm going back. I'm sorry this happened to the OP but it's being taking care of.

This isn't a shop that is hiding from the OP. It's being fixed.
I'm not going to stop you from defending the shop. They seem reputable, but your excuses for them don't make sense.

They are a business, first and foremost. Not a couple of dudes working out of their garage. There is no such thing as being 'rushed' when you are a business. What I mean by this is, even if the OP was rushing them to get work done, it is a businesses responsibility to tell the customer if they CAN or CANNOT complete work ACCURATELY and PROFESSIONALLY by the date they specify. If they were given the wrong supplies and parts, it is THEIR responsibility to notify the customer and get the RIGHT parts and supplies.

In my opinion, as a professional shop, you don't have many excuses as to why something was done wrong. Their job is to make sure things are done right along the process. That means using the right parts, tools, and informing the customer of anything that may be different along the process so they can either confirm or change what is being done.

I'm glad the shop is solving the issue. That is the best they can do now and from what I've seen and read, they have done hundreds of jobs and have done them professionally. This was just a blemish on their record, but nothing that can't be fixed.

I wasn't making excuses. I actually said that companies, shops, people in general make mistakes. Yes. I'm not defending the work they did, i'm defending the work they have done for me and for several people on this forum and other forums.

As for being a fanboy.? I just said that I had work done here and had a good experience. These guys are stand up guys and are taking care of the original poster...

It's getting resolved anyhow..

And yes to the screws to attach the sides.. I have them.. from a different shop, and i have seen several cars that have them..

I'm a little peeved that it's another 200$ for the redo work but I understand; they refinished the fenders as well as sides.

Why bother posting all these pictures of showcars that they did?
Like Mobworks and Bodypros before, (both shops out of business now), a lot of shops can do awesome work on show cars (and then perform **** poor work on non show cars), it is how they treat the everyday customer which differentiates them from the other shops out there. Actually this is surprising to me as well. I got a poly Nismo painted at Auto Explosion and the paint match was pretty much perfect. Also had them do a replica kit on my brother's car which needed fiberglass work, and his paint, modifications, and install was flawless as well. All of our good experiences, however, don't discredit the fact that cakestar had a bad experience. Sorry to hear about your experience and I hope that everything works out. In the modding scene, you just have to be prepared to roll with the punches (which come quite often the more stuff you do to your car) and it seems like you have a good positive attitude about what happened but you are still realistic about your expectations, dissapointments, and what not...which is to be expected. Good luck man!

PS-I have screws also on my Nismo FG sides.

If a part is not going to fit the way a customer expects it to, it is the shop's responsibility to accuratley inform them of that....and then, likewise, inform them of what needs to be done to make it fit and/or other options. Having done custom car audio professionally for several years....if I ever ran into a problem or was about to do something questionable to a customer's car, I would always talk to them first....even get them in the shop and actually show them exactly what I could do to make it work or give them alternatives. Granted, most shops/installers know best...but it's always a smart move to get the customer involved so you don't dump a surprise on them and have them freak out like what happened in this scenario. IMO, there's no excuse for what this guy got. Rushed, sh!tty parts, whatever....they're all just excuses. You go to a professional shop like this and pay alot of money to have it done right, and if it can't be done right, the shop needs to tell the customer that.
