Service Engine Soon Light-after Airbox
Service Engine Soon Light-after Airbox
I tried searching for the answer, but I still haven't found it. I just had my Infiniti dealer install the rev-up airbox to replace the POS CAI previously installed in my 2005 G35 Coupe. Now the Service engine soon light is on and will not go off. It has been 3 days since I had the airbox installed. Do I need to do the ECU reset by disconnecting the battery? Any help is appreciated.
How so? Please explain Gary. I have done this numerous times with out any problems. What is your thought process on this? Yes i also agree if the dealership installed the airbox and you are now getting a SES light i would take it back to them.

Like I posted, leaving your battery disconnected for a great length of time the ECU begins to forget simple things like idle rpms or advance. My friend Chris is a Nissan Master Tech and laughs at how many time a day he needs to reset customers ECUs because they left their battery disconnected over night. Installing spacers or intakes disconnecting is advised but only for an hour or so which will also clear most CES warning....Gary
Take it back to the dealer - they did the install.
And while it's common for the light to come on after some installs, I would not suggest resetting your ECU to clear it without checking what set it off first, just in case it actually is something more serious.
