Smoking from exhaust and smells like oil

any input would be appreciated. 2 weeks ago i had to change my camshaft position sensor, but before i changed out my sensors i made a mistake by adding quart and a half of oil without checking the level and the smoking problem started. i've chaged the oil about 50miles ago and chaged pcv valve 2day ago, but still have smoking issue. thank you in advance for your time

My guess is you overfilled the oil and somehow it got somewhere it shouldn't. Not sure why the exhaust would smoke but hopefully someone else will chime in.

If it's just an overfill issue, the smell will eventually go away. Give it time. If it doesn't go away, you could have bad valve stem seals

Thank you guys for the valuable inputs. I'll play the waiting game for now and post an update after I drive about 500miles more.

Oops, wrong thread. Good luck with the problem. BTW, do you always add a quart and a half with out checking it first? Lol
