Sad day for my G35... aka Stella

Hey G35 crew,

Last Friday (10/18/13) was a bad day for me and Stella (my 05 G35)..

So a little about what happen.... I'm on a 3 lane freeway in the middle lane.. a Truck tundra/Xrunner was in the middle lane about 3 car lengths in front of me, a VW bug was in the fast lane and we were all traveling like normal.. shortly the truck swerved/went into fast lane where the bug was (I think she might have been in his blind spot) bug swerved to center divide hit the dirt, she ended up losing control and did a 180, and headed straight for me in center lane, everything happened so fast.. we ended up colliding once she hit me the momentum pushed me out of my lane across the slow lane and onto part a hill, air bags deployed and all... Truck pulled over, 2 minutes later took off no one got his information...

My car... Frame shifted towards passenger side so they are totaling it :-/... I must say Stella (my G35) did a perfect job in every way possible, She protected me when I needed protecting and she never left me stranded.. what more could any person want out of a car?

Car engine is 100% still no engine damage I even drove her off the hill but the bumper was digging into the tires so I had her towed. I was curious if you were in my shoes would you buy her back as a salvage and part her out? if so where is the best place to part her out/donate her when she's stripped? I'm trying to make the most money so I can purchase another car I'm looking at the G37 and G60's but I'm keeping all options open since I'm in no big rush to buy another car since i still have a truck to use as a daily for now.

Tough day for Stella. The main thing is you are OK.
Buy it and strip it. You can sell off the parts you don't need for more than it cost you.

Gman, she has I believe 115k on engine/chassis. And 70k on tranny and clutch. And yes she was the 6mt

Cdrink, I took out her whole system so I tech don't need anything off her any more. but I don't know where to start like what's worth what or where to start selling lol.

The engine is not bad mileage. You could get that sold $400 .tranny about the same and wheels $200 -600.. l dont know what the going prices are for parts but thats what l would ask for them. What state are you in? I like your wheels. what size are they? I own a G now because a drunk driver hit my a6 quattro totaled her out! Core price was $500. I wish you luck on your search when you do start looking.

Sorry to hear about Stella but glad she took care of you. Looks like you still have lots of nice parts if you get another G or just part it out. Engine, Tranny, Navigation, Double Din, Pedals, interior, trunk, wheels....

Sorry for the loss. If you get rid of it, I'd like to take those all-weather mats and a few parts.

Sounds like another woman driver destroying the lives of many. Anywho, glad to see YOU'RE ok. That's the main point.

You seem to have a fairly in tact interior. That's another few hundred dollars in your pocket. I can tell you there's people that would buy your dash and pillars, center console, and possibly even seats. I want to convert my car to black interior and something like this would be my dream find.

Good luck in whatever you do.

@jairen good eye seeing the all weathers they are in my garage ATM lol that as well as the full system I had installed.

@drift interior was immaculate no tips or tears, consol was clean, only thing I can remember is on driver seat where the leather gets tucked near a plastic it tore a little I think.

Some people have emailed me wanting the whole car as is. What do you think would be a reasonable price if I sell it as is vs part by part?

Very sorry for your loss, looked like you had a hell of a chance to not lose more than your car in the accident!

If you did happen to pull the system out of the car, I was wondering if you would be interested in selling the double din piece seeing I have a 06 g35 and am not wanting to pay the $400 plus shipping for a new one!

Again happy to hear that you are fine and well!

-Matt

Just give Stella a kiss and say, "Good by!" She gave you lots of fun miles and protected you when you needed it the most. Time to look for an upgrade replacement like low a mileage G37 lease return driven by someones granny!
