Yeah they applied to much clear coat on mine and created thick orange peel. They ended up sanding it down to smooth.

Rock chips and washing it. It had chipped to black in a few spots and after washing it it exposed even more.

For the duration of my ownership it's been under 0°C outside, and I don't have a garage.

So that would be a no. Original owner took good care of it.

That would be nice... Here everyone owns a BMW for a reason... The cars don't weather. I've seen E36 M3's (notoriously crap paint) that look nicer then my G, and they have like 300,000km on them.

If i'm not mistaken I think I've read that Japan has strict environmental laws compared to other countries.

That they do, if only these cars could have been fab'd domestically (BMW is fab'd in Alabama I believe?)... Or Volkswagen style... In Mexico.

Yeah Nissan paint is just sub par and even GTR owners have the same issues with chipping.

If I owned a GTR and it chipped I'd be tearing Nissan a new *******. I already got Infiniti to give me a free jacket, I'm sure if I kept going I'd get more.

You could most likely negotiate a new paint job at the dealer if you're buying a gtR. They have paint/body shops at the dealer. Or at least an extra 16 coats of clear.

Idk man imo blaming rock chips on paint defect is kinda rough. A rock flying at the car at 50mph I kinda wouldn't expect the paint to not get damaged

50mph? Try closer to 70.

There's rock chips all over my car, it's not like tiny spots of paint decided they didn't want to be on the car anymore and jumped ship.

U are always taking a chance with touchless car washes.. If u have a chip the water gets under it since its such high pressure and peels the paint right off..

The paint definitely has issues, even when I was searching for my G at least a handful all had flaking paint already or alot, alot of chips. Mine was pretty clean but the paint is definitely soft. It has more noticeable paint chips on the front bumper than my 20 year old original painted Honda with a fraction of the miles.
