Is it worth investing?
For those who has invested thousands of dollars into their cars, was it worth it?
I got the 03 G35 Coupe, makes me feel like it's getting outdated after realizing it's already 2014.
By the time I finish getting everything I want
-Rims (vossen)
-coil overs
-simple bolt ons
-bigger brake kit
those alone run over 5k,
I know people are going to say it's preference but what is everyone's opinions so far after having their g for a while

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Are you looking for satisfaction with your car or resale value? You will never get compensation for mods if you're looking at resale value, they might actually hurt the resale value if you plan to resell it. But I've spent a LOT of money on my car which I will never recoup and I'm very happy because I love my car the way it is and I will drive it until it dies.
Your choice........

I fell in love with my G way before I even started modding. This car stock is more fun to drive than most cars that I have been behind the wheel of. So for me, this car is worth it regardless of mods. If you plan to go that route, as many have said, it only brings more joy and excitement.
To me, it's all about how fun the car is to drive, especiialy as a DD. So if adding an exhaust, wheels, and coils helps that, then F**K YES I'm doing it!

I've driven and enjoyed my G largely stock. It's reliable, quiet and comfortable. And paid off! It has working AC and stereo. It get's good mpg still (for a G) lol. I almost decided to pull the trigger and mod it up, but before I could I almost totaled the darn thing! Even with racing and drifting experience it only literally takes 1 second of driving 35mph home from the gym in a semi lessened state of awareness to almost lose everything lol. Drive with the VDC on daily commutes. If it doesn't work, fix it asap.
On to your mods. Wheels are only worth it to replace damaged oem ones and for summer tire setups. They will inevitable get curbed or harmed in some way unless you hardpark like my racecar. Coilovers are generally not as reliable or long lasting as oem shocks and struts. Any kind of lowering will scrape the expensive bodywork and lack of suspension travel will suck on road trips and commutes. Forget about winter driving. Bolt on mods don't really benefit unless you get a dyno tune with Uprev or similar. After all that $$ you get very little whp gains and a ton of noise. Bigger brakes are only worth it if you seriously run track events and drive home in the same vehicle. The oem brakes are great if you only drive on the street. All that's needed is better rotors and pads after the oem ones are worn.
For 5k, the best vehicle mod is your vehicle traded for a 335i or anything with the letters M, AMG, Audi or Porsche named to it plus more cash.
