Driving on the highway sunroof closed and the glass blew right off! Anyone heard of that and will infinity cover it?

 

Holy crap, never heard of that before. Did it cause an accident?

 

I have read of that happening before on the boards...at least twice before.

Will the cover it? Doubtful. Warranty period has long since passed.

No accident thank god. I don't really care about the glass. New one will be here tomorrow. I figured Infiniti would not do anything. The head guy of the claims department is gonna call me tomorrow. I just want them to look into it because what if it went through a windshield or hit a person on a bike. I know we who ride have enough to look at with crappy drivers.

 

Wow, that is crazy. Glad no one was hurt and everything is OK.

Was there any indications are warnings? Any trouble with it before? Was it closed or "popped up"? And where the other door windows up are down?

Just trying figure out what happened/failed.

 

Drivers door window was open a little and sun guard was closed under the closed. Sunroof was closed. I drove the car to boston and to jersey never had an issue and then out of no where that happened.

 

WOW! that is the 1st time i heard that. Want to know what the head guy is going to do. keep us updated on that.

 

Glad nobody was hurt. Damn that would have sucked to hit moonroof while on a motorcycle.

 

It's weird bcus there was a tsb on the sunroof making noise. Musta been bcus they weren't designed properly and didn't fit together right. Probably has something to with ur problem

 

how fast were you driving and was the passenger window down a little as well. Also, are you sure the sunroof wasn't tilted open while the sunroof shade was closed.

 

I was doing 60 with the sun roof clised and the shade close. After it happened i pushed up on the shade to see if it flexed and there is no way it hit the window out.

 

What part separated? The glass only? Or the entire sunroof lifted from the track? Any photos?
