07 G35 coupe Tail lights faulty? HELP!

Hey guys, so I recently bought an 07 G35 coupe. When I bought this car, I was aware of the upgrade in tail lights to the dual LED rings on the 06+ coupes. However, when I start my car up/drive it/ brake, I notice not all 4 rings on each side of the tail lights light up... only the most inner rings do

Shouldn't my tail lights look like the picture ive attached? (outter rings dont light up for me except when i turn on my blinker)

I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that or if i'm misinformed.. help?

The car and tail lights is all stock and factory OEM , what i meant when I said "upgrade in tail lights for 06+ coupes" was I meant an upgrade in tail lights from 03-05 coupes G35s

Sorry, like I said i'm new to this community and this was a car I literally got 2 days ago. I was only wondering because i've seen some G35's on the freeway and in videos with tail lights that look like this pic right here

These are 06-07 tails with lights on-no brakes or hazards or turning signals applied

Also, JDM tails for all years did not have all 4 rings lit up. Why? I don't know. But they should have imo...

hence why the custom jobs to make them as such.
In short, you're lights are probably 110% fine 07 G35 coupe Tail lights faulty? HELP!-image-30198757.jpg

Jerseys right. We all wish they were dual, sadly the only way to get dual ones is to hack up your tails or fork up $$$ to get them done.

I'll try it one day when I run out of mods lol

Thanks a lot guys, that helps a lot. But then that leaves me wondering, visually, is there really a difference between 03-05 tail lights and 06-07 tail lights?

I sense VERY bad things happening if I tried that. I'll do my own mods, but when you start cutting into OEM, I get queasy. My mechanical skills are alright, but I'm no artist.

The lights are behaving normally, the outer rings are for turn signal/hazards ONLY. If you see an 03-07 coupe with dual led rings lit up, then they're custom made.

If you don't know the subtle visual differences between 03-05 and 06-07, start here in this thread: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cou...s-06-07-a.html
