Pick up a used motor for about $1k and drop it in yourself or pay an additional $2k for someone to do it for you.

Or sell the vehicle and buy something more "disposable" if you don't think he learned his lesson.

Make sure you buy the correct motor, rev-up vs. non rev motor, has to be from another G, M, or a 350Z. The VQ35DE used in trucks, crossovers, Maxima's, etc won't work.

Thanks for the info. I just started looking around for rebuilt and not trying to go more than $1k(this will be coming out of his pocket not mine) and asking a couple of mechanic friends for the helping hands on there time.I think that anymore than the is asking to much for a rebuilt unless it comes with a life time warranty.

You won't find a rebuilt VQ for that little it's an expensive motor from a racecar essentially. You can find a used one with 60-80k in it though.

Pick up a used one from the yard and toss it in. Sure you can find one for less than 1k.
