Trans shifter bulb - Console

Just replaced bulb so I can now see the PRNDL in the dark. Bulb was burnt out for years. However, all 5 letters are the same brightness....so I cannot tell (in the dark) which position the lever is in by looking at console plate.

Shouldn’t the selected position of the lever be brighter than the others ?

In other words, if I’m in Drive, shouldn’t the “D” be brighter than the others ?

Maybe it's something you may wire to the TCM!

Seriously? You don't need to see what gear you're in on the console, it's right there in front of you on the dash! I have a custom shift ball and boot that covers what gear I'm in, but that information is always in front of me!

Agreed, it displays on instrumentation.

What gear I'm in is covered by the shift boot I mentioned in my previous post to you, yes I have it but it's covered! Yes, you can always look at your dash (instrumentation) for your gear selection! My wife had the same issues the first time she drove my G35 coupe! "How do I know what gear I'm in?"
