I bought a 05 get guy tell me he was driving down Express way goes to slow up pulls the car In neutral...6 speed and engine cuts off no sound nothing ok then car wouldn't start again .I ask has anything been wrong or have u had any work done recently get says I had a water pump put on..ok I buy it car turns over but like freely hitting on nothing we sonds like timejumped or broke well I start to look and see evidence of water pump worked on recently then I think maybe they let it jump a tooth when installing I call him he says he installed it so it's possible he tried but didn't get it right.....is it possible that when he tried he u can let chain ship teeth during g install. I know on most others it is

If the timing chain had slipped, the car would have been running like śhit immediately afterwards.

If it was running good for a while after the water pump replacement, then the timing is OK. Probably just a bad cam or crank sensor.

Is the check engine light on? Can u read the code?

No check engine light no code but I may have mislead u what I mean is he said at first a shop put the water pump on then when ask again after I had already bought it he said he put it on do you me either at 1st or 2nd time ask he's a liar ...so let's take out the whole Express way room it out of gear engine shut off never to start again bit... cause u and I both know that if that were case check engine light would be on for something .....now when said liar was putting water pump on could ticking chain during the process easily be moved ...i checked compression 0.. ok never put one on this car but have many other dual overhead cam cars last was a Mitsubishi Montero sport and i unlike liar know what i am doing in that case was very careful about not letting bolt move or pulley move to jump a couple teeth and yo my knowledge it never did but in the end unknowingly did so had to re time ...so is that possible or are the chain pretty much secure when water pump is out and being replaced

Replacing the water pump won't cause the timing chain to jump a tooth. Something else is wrong with that car. Try unplugging the maf and see if it starts. If so, check the intake for leaks, torn boots, cracked hoses, etc.

I noticed you said you did a compression test and it was ZERO on each cylinder? Is this correct? You did the test yourself or you paid for the service? Engine was cranked 7 cycles and the compression gauge never moved?

^It continues to amaze me how many new members ask a question, are given the answer then ask it again as if they don't even read the responses. Sad times indeed for the forum.....

I don't even go to the Facebook page, I'd be breaking whatever device I was viewing it on out of frustration lol.
