Stock exhaust quieter than stock

Hey y'all, got a bit of a problem here. I recently put my cars exhaust system back to stock minus the oem y-pipe which is a megan HR one. When everything was put back together from going fully straight piped, the exhaust sounds much quieter than stock and I know that for a fact. I'm not sure as to why but it's missing the infamous vq burble and it saddens me . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Probably because of the y-pipe.

It was still quiet even with the OEM y-pipe.

Answer is obvious Akirabread, you're so accustomed to listening to the loud racket from the straight pipe system you were running OEM sounds too reserved...Gary

While I would be inclined to agree, you're wrong on this one, Gary. :P
I've heard other stock G's in my area and they all sound throtier.

Any intake mods? If your intake is not stock, or if your filter is exceptionally dirty, that might cause it.

Not sure about the filter but the only thing that was done was welding the muffler, resonator and stock cats back in place--that's it. Nothing else was changed.

Well, I figured out what the issue was. When I had my mid-pipe and muffler put back on, the guy welded the ends and I think that's what caused the car to be excessively quieter.
