Double Din Install - 2 harnesses not used?

So I am getting ahead of myself in this, just trying to get a grip on this before tackling it in the morning.

2004 G35 Coupe

Putting in a Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX
PAC ROEM-NIS2 for the Bose Amp
ASWC-1 for the steering wheel controls

We have five harnesses that came off the stock radio. 1 for the HVAC, 4 others. I see two plug into the PAC ROEM-NIS2. So I assume wire up the harness that came with the Pioneer unit into the NIS-2 and then 2 of the 4 harnesses in the car go into the PAC ROEM NIS-2.

What about the other 2 harnesses? I am assuming I am just tying in the ASWC-1 into the wires somewhere in here along with the motion override thing I picked up since I dont see a spot for a harness to fit into the ASWC-1.

So are we left with 2 harnesses that do not get plugged in? The rest I can figure out as I go along. Just an obvious uh oh moment of, wait, there are 2 harnesses that don't have a spot to plug in any longer? or am I totally missing something?

Thanks guys...

I think I had those 2 harnesses left over after my double din install. And yeah, u need to tap into a few of those wires when u hook up your ASWC-1 for ur steering controls.

I just did an install over the weekend myself. Took heck of a long time. I installed Kenwood Excelon DMX906S / PAC ROEM NIS-2 / Maestro iDataLink SWC / and a backup cam. Let me know if you need any help with the wiring.

I am just going to say this............ OH MY GOD!!!!! I got the Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX in the car today (didnt get a chance to work on the steering wheel control today) but just threw the unit on the passenger seat to check the main harness and this thing is awesome!!!!! The HD radio, the car play, dvd player........... this thing totally changed it. Even in google maps when I clicked on gas stations it showed where they are with the price right on it. (pulling data from gasbuddy?) But I wish I did this 10 years ago or whenever double dins really came on the scene. This is amongst the best 1k I spent on the car! The stereo pumps now too... I mean really sounds good. I suspect not all of the speakers were working with the stock unit, something I suspected for years but this car only gets 3-5k miles on it a year so I never bothered with the speakers, now though... just awesome. Every car should have one of these....

Yeah double din companies have to change their game in order to compete. Modern cars come with a lot of good stuff, this is the extra.

Was this the METRA kit? I see the nav doesnt fit perfect, which they said was an issue with that kit. For anyone else who doesnt want to replace with the 'pocket' (which is hard as heck to find used) you can file down under the NAV Controls to get it to fit. There is a video about how to do this in the mega thread: https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...ml#post6546537

Yeah and at the end of the day no doubt I would recommend the Scosche double din. The opening on the JDM kit sucked. The metra kit had those horrible rubber buttons. I ended up with the Scoche after going through all options and ebaying them off or returning them and at the end of the day got the black but it did not matter because I painted and clear coated it. Highly recommend the Scoche and had I known in advance all the other stuff was not necessary since it comes with the steering wheel controls and all in the kit. Best fitting quality kit by far. Live and learn. Next car/ time I install a double din it should be easy since in general they are all similiar. Another notch under the belt and knowledge going forward.
