newer keyfob casing
i have a 04 automatic coupe and im trying to program remote start function soon. how can i get the "football shaped" casing for the key fob. i have the other key fob and it is completely worn down and faded button prints.
You can buy replacement Dorman brand fobs that are nearly identical to the factory Nissan ones. They also don't require any dealership programming for your year, you can just do it yourself. Instructions are included in the package or you can look them up online.
Switching to a different and newer style of fob like the ones with the flip out key is a little trickier, you will need to take the RFID transponder out of your KEY and stick it the flip key fob, plus getting the key blank cut to match your existing key.

No not remote start, that can only be handled through an aftermarket piece. I don't believe the V35 chassis cars ever had an option for remote start so that functionality would need to be added with aftermarket electronics.
The Dorman fob is just to replace the fob you currently have with another OEM-looking one.
The football shaped one was only for the newer V36 chassis cars.

Yep you know what I was wrong, the football one was with the early intelligent key system, but I don't know if it was an option in 2005? Definitely was an option for 2006-2007 coupes. No idea if it was an option on V35 sedan though?

I had a 2006 sedanX with the intelligent key system. If one were really curious, you could look at the 2005 owner's manual and it would describe the intellikey system if it was available.
