Get some outside body mods (ie. bumpers, grill, spoilers,..), remove all badging and keep most people guessing on what kind of car you are driving. Or do whatever else floats your boat. It's your ride, so do whatever you like, who cares what others think and say!

i imagine that if i had a coupe i would have either rebadged it or debadged it, but i have an 04.5 black sedan and i just dont think a sedan would like right badged as a skyline, and since its a 4 door i dont guess it really is a skyline

Do you live in Japan? Then it's not a Skyline.
The G35 still demands respect. No need for Nissan or skyline badges.

The only reason the G35 demands respect is because it's a NISSAN SKYLINE. Don't be upset because you think we're downgrading your "luxury" car to a mere Nissan. Believe it or not, you paid for a high priced Nissan!

I don't rebadge because I want to impress ricers. I could give a shyte what they think. I rebadge to give back my car's sporty nature that it lost when they badged it with Infiniti.

I think it's a sinny sin sin when someone adds a Type-R, or GT-R, VTEC, or some kind of better engine emblem on their cars, but to each his own. This is in no way the same, so you can't compare the two. By rebadging, I'm not claiming my car has twin turbo's or an inline 6. Rebadging is simply taking it back to where it all started.

NISSAN SKYLINE!

If you could give a "shyte" about what they think, then why do you need a car that "Demands respect". These cars really have almost no resemblance to what made the Skyline name great (AWD, Turbo from the factory).

It's not about needing a car that "demands respect". I bought my car because I know a great/quality/good looking car when I see it. I didn't buy it thinking, "Wow! I hope this impresses all the ricers around the world!" I bought it for me.

I love this forum !!!

You're car lost it's 'sporty nature' because of a badge? That's the most ridiculous thing I've read in this thread so far.

If you put a greenpeace sticker on the back, do you get better gas mileage?

Didn't think so.

To me the rebadge makes no sense, but whatever. I don't need to rebadge my car to tell people what my car was originally, the bulk of them wouldn't get it anyway. Those that would understand don't need to be reminded when they look at the back of my car - it's just understood.

For me, rebadging is rice and belongs in the accessories aisle at Pep Boys - BUT - to each their own. Somebody has to buy neon lights and those big a$$ wings and chit.

Agree that the car is a Nissan product. No doubt about it. To call the cars identical is ridiculous. Move the steering components to the right side of the car and your argument will have some merit.

One last thought...

How many 350Z owners do you know that tacked 'FAIRLADY' on the back of their coupe?

i know why its not a skyline ohh ohh pick me. give up they dont have safetyglass for the windows in japan. and as far as moving the steering wheel i guess the american cars that are over seas and such cant be named the samething because they change the steering wheel location to conform to the standards of that particular location. its like a tahoe and a yukon same truk different emblems does that make them different? hell no

A lot of '90-'96 300ZX owners put Fairlady Z decals on their cars. I haven't seen many 350Z owners do it thus far.

The cars are identical other than having to put the steering components on one side or the other to comply with the countries they are being sold in.

Same body, same engine, same dash, same brakes, same wheels....

I just installed a grab handle on the driver's side in place of the card holder- it was a 10 second install job because on the Japanese model the card holder is on the right side and the grab handle is on the left, so no mods were needed to install a grab handle on the left side on the US model.
