are you saying when the new GTR comes out in 07, it wont be a skyline gtr here because it is left hand drive? ya..ok
First of all we don't know exactly what will happen in 07 do we? Magazines and the web forecast $hit all the time that ends up being inaccurate. Right?

No, what I'm saying is that it doesn't make a flying fork at a do-nut hole (to me) what the japanese call their version of my Nissan. I don't care if theirs is the original or not...

On this continent their version doesn't exist. I paid dollars for my car, not yen. I get behind the wheel of my car on the left, not the right.

I think the whole Skyline retag is an effort to convince ricers that our car is tied to the Skyline GTR. It all adds up to posing. To me.

Those who know already know and don't need to be reminded. Those who don't likely wouldn't understand even if you explained it to them.

It's like a guy with red hair wearing a shirt that says "look at me, I have red hair..." What's the point?

**YAWN**

Anyway..

Same body, same engine, same dash, same brakes, same wheels....

I just installed a grab handle on the driver's side in place of the card holder- it was a 10 second install job because on the Japanese model the card holder is on the right side and the grab handle is on the left, so no mods were needed to install a grab handle on the left side on the US model.
me too, i did this to my o4, i might do it to my o5 also, when i get around to ordering the part...

its funny you say this, my buddy has front and rear rebadge to Nissan S K Y L I N E 350GT... 2 people already asked if the car was really a Skyline, and when he got a speeding ticket they wrote Nissan Skyline on the ticket, and the other Chippy asked me (i was in the passenger seat) if he shipped this car from overseas, and i replied "No, sir. If so, then I would be getting the ticket!" (cause i'd be in the drivers seat...)

funny ish...

If I were to rebadge my car, I think it would be more for the look of it. The word "SKYLINE" looks and sounds better then "INFINITI". People that are into cars will know that the G35 is a Skyline, so no need to inform them. Am I gonna be put some NISSAN emblem on??, hell no...hehe. .I paid for an Infiniti, so I still want that name. I just want the skyline name to go with it.

Ferrari sounds better than Skyline, but you don't see people sticking that on their cars At least I hope not.

I think if your gonna go with JDM then get the "Nissan" and "Skyline" and "350GT". The only thing that I think looks tacky is when people leave the infiniti symbol, and add the "Skyline" and "350GT". Their is no such thing as an Infiniti Skyline 350GT, so do one or the other. I personally didnt like the lone "g35" symbol on the right side, so that is gone, but I left the emblem and the "infiniti". To that guy who said younger people are doing this, I'm one of the younger ones on the board and I still prefer the clean centered look of the infiniti symbol + the "infiniti" underneath.

O yea.. I also think the infiniti logo is the most creative logo of any car companies. To me it looks like a road coming at you and going seperate ways to meet at the middle, making a circle, and they go on for infiniti.

This subject is a great illustration of people's tendency to think that the grass is always greener on the other side. There is probably a heated debate going on right now on a Japanese Skyline forum where people are asking why some owners are rebadging their Skylines to Infiniti G35 and people are defending the practice as vigorously as we see here.

I like the debadged look myself, but partly because I live in a town with almost no G's, so nobody here knows what the car is anyway. To add to my car's enigma, I also debadged the grille (pics to follow soon), and I get asked all the time what kind of car it is..........I often say in a perplexed voice - "I don't know, it doesn't say anywhere what it is, I need to find out". It's surprising to me how many people don't realize I am kidding, and they think that I actually bought a car not knowing what it is. I drive off and they are shaking their head at how stupid I am, when THEY are the ones without enough brains to detect sarcasm when it hits them over the head!

As far as I know, All Skyline's R32, R33, R34 comes with sedan and coupe. Even they have released R34 Sedan as a GT-R in limited quantities.

i just took off all the logos cept the one on the grill and the "G35" badge.. xP but in the end it is "each to their own"

i see some GT badges on v6 stangs
VTEC, SI, Type-R, stickers and emblems on hondas
GSR rims on a civic ex..
Viper badge on SRT
STI badge on WRX
etc.. list goes on and on and on

people will be like that, just leave them be.. as long as you feel good about your car then your alright.

however, IMO you shouldnt badge a car something its not (IE skyline) but technically it is a Nissan and thats enough said lol duno why anyone would want the Nissan logo on their car but you see "H" on integras and RSXs all the time. but this is my personal opinion.. I'll still look at a G35 the same way weather they have the 350GT, G35, Infiniti, Nissan, whatever logo.. the same way as i would a stock g35.. but if you do badge it as a skyline.. your car better keep up with the "real" skylines (TT 6cyl)

This thread is hilarious. It's been pointed out that the chasis, engine, and parts codes are identical, yet people just can't concede. The V35 identity is universal. Universal, as in no matter where you go or what your badges say, it's all the same car. Skyline or G35- they both carry the manufacturer's identification as a V35. They're the same car. If you just can't bring yourself to admit that you've bought a Nissan, fine. It's okay that you've fallen for a brilliant marketing scheme and purchased a car from a company Nissan developed solely to get Americans to dump out more money for a car. But why bag on those who know what they've bought?

The only guy who needs to be blame is Carlos Ghosn, He souldn't have to released this car in US market as a Infiniti G35. The reason why I bought this car in the first place is because it is a Nissan Skyline in Japan. I used to own a skyline 25gt-t back in Indonesia and I never rebadge it as an Infiniti because it's just not right. If they realease this car in US as a Nissan, I will never ever rebadge it as an Infiniti. But in this case, I do rebadge mine to Nissan Skyline, because it is a skyline. Since the first day I had this car I always considered my car as a skyline, and also all the G35 out there in the street I considered it as a skyline. Not just that all infiniti I consider it as a Nissan, All Lexus I consider it as Toyota, All Acura I consider as a honda.
