Coolant bleeding question

Hey guys just changed out thermostat, 2 hoses, and radiator cap and replaced the coolant/bled it. It's not overheating but when I open the air bleeder valve it still hisses. Do you guys recommend I keep opening the bleeder valve until it no longer hisses or am I at a point where I don't have to worry about it because I'm not overheating?

Thanks,
Adrian

Get ALL air out of the system, open the bleed valve until coolant comes out.

Are you getting HOT AIR blowing out of the AC system?

The heat is blowing hot at idle, and the coolant level is not dropping. Although after a drive when i crack open the bleeder valve it still hisses a little. It's been a little while now so idk why this is still happening.

Is the car overheating at all? Is everything working as intended?

And just to verify you're talking about the coolant purge valve up next to the firewall on the right / passenger side of the car right?

No overheating and when I pluggd my obd in to monitor temps, it never went above 95c (fans come on) and yea I'm talking about the bleeder by on the Heater Hoses at the firewall near the battery

Heat also working at idle, it's just weird how I still get hissing out of the bleeder valve unless I'm doing it wrong and opening it when it's under pressure?

Yeah that's really odd it should be 100% full to the top with coolant. There should be no air whatsoever in that line. If the engine is running normally, not overheating, the radiator is full to the top when cold, and the reservoir maintains the same cold and hot coolant levels (I like to use a sharpie to mark the hot level on my reservoir) and you're not having to add coolant then there's probably no issues.

With the engine cold if you unscrew that bleed valve all the way it should be pouring coolant out.

If it's only hissing while the engine is HOT that would make sense since the coolant system holds 8-10psi of pressure while hot. But it should still be puking out coolant when you open that valve.

Hmm now that I think about it I never checked it cold, only when hot. I have a feeling it's not gonna puke out but I will update when i check.

So I could see the coolant inside of the bleeder valve when cold but it was not full to the top. My radiator is full so could I just add fluid through the bleeder valve?

Sure, you can use a small funnel to pour coolant in.

I used to fill the radiator until I saw coolant at the bleeder, then cap the radiator and fill the bleeder/heater.

I suspect that you lost a bit when you cracked it open hot.

The method in the video works great as the funnel creates a definite high point in the system and does away with all the nonsense.. the next generation of G doesn't even have that bleeder.

I see I guess I just got confused because when I initially did the procedure I used the Lisle funnel and was using that and the bleeder valve at the same but the fluid in the bleeder and radiator are no longer dropping, so i am going to assume I am good to go. When I was reading about how tricky it is to bleed these systems I guess I was expecting for something to go wrong...lol
