Recently I was cruising around and I accidentally shifted to park while on manual mode. My car didn’t stop but my vdc light did turn off but went away when I turned off the engine. Should I be worried about transmission being ****ed? Any help would be appreciated
( just picked up my baby as well she’s mint for a 04)
How do u shift into park if youre still in manual mode?
I sound like a moron but yeah somehow while driving in manual mode I moved the shift all the way to park like a dumb ***. Anyways I heard I should be good I was going 35mph the car didn’t hard stop either so

Well if u managed to put it in park then that means u were out of manumatic mode.
Did the car actually come to an abrupt stop or did it make a grinding noise until u popped it back into drive?
You can't actually shift to park if you're moving, you're fine. Some vehicles it will actually try to engage the parking pawl but the output shaft lock ring is spinning too quickly so it will make a grinding noise as the pawl rides on the top of the gear until it slows down enough for the pawl to jam into place.
The RE5R05A uses the output shaft sensor to determine if it can shift into park, it reads the lock ring that the pawl would engage onto and if it's moving you won't engage the parking pawl.
