2005 auto g35 coupe

Here's the thing I bought a used 2005 Infiniti G35 automatic a few weeks after buying issue started popping up first I thought maybe it was the fuel pump cuz it Was having starting issues so I changed the fuel pump it started then a day later same issue started happening not starting then my friend popped on the reader and it said camshaft sensor a so I replaced it and same issue was there trouble starting up then I replace the starter thinking that was the issue and same thing trouble starting then my dad told me to take it to a mechanic and mechanic popped in his reader and he said it was the remaining camshaft sensors so he replaced them kept my car for 2 days and when I got it back the same issues were there if not worse here's where I'm at now when I turn my key to start the car I hear it crank but then I hear a grinding noise I know that's not normal the car would only start if I cranked it a couple times but then a day later it stops starting my friend told me it sounds like if the starter rings aren't aren't grabbing the flywheel and the teeth are slipping and to me it sounds like like that might make the sound that I'm hearing so I took off the starter I had recently put on and when I took it off it looked as if the teeth were grinding... I don't know what else to do except maybe take the starter back to AutoZone and ask for another one but I need help.. thanks fellow g35ers...

Others more knowledgeable than I will post, but one think I can say is to NEVER put anything on your car from AUTOZONE. NEVER.

I am hoping those flywheel teeth are not too far gone.

It will be fine, but you definitely got a bad starter. That's some serious engagement issue, reminds me of the old SBC days where you had to shim your starters lol.

Just out of curiosity when you take that starter off, reach up and grab the flywheel and wiggle it back and forth, there should be ZERO play.
