Got a huge puddle of fuel when getting gas... Decided to take the wheel off at home and tried filling up from a Jerry can to ensure the leak was right where he filler neck is...
Looks like it just rotted out, thanks to our salty winters i suppose.
I ended up using rubber gloves and electrical tape to create a seal, used the clamps at the end as well. They ensure that the pipe stays tight? lol
Anyways, I'm like 95% certain to replace the filler neck I would have to drop the subframe and gas tank.
The band-aid solution works... I tested it at a gas station and no leak...
I didnt want to use an adhesive incase someone suggested a better adhesive ? Something that would stick to rust? lol
You shouldn't have to drop the tank, you can reach the fill neck coupler (the one right at the tank) from under the vehicle. Not sure about the subframe, but I bet there's a way to wiggle that thing out without removing anything else.
