I'm new to the G, but most moonroofs have a manual override that allows you to close the roof using an allen wrench or a key provided by the dealer. Look up the moonroof in the manual to see if it mentions an override. It probably won't help you in the long-run, but it will keep your interior dry in the short term.

try looking along the track to see if there is anything stuck, usually thats the problem
BTW g's have a sunroof not a moonroof, the difference is that the moonroof goes on top of the car, while the sunroof goes inside the car

thanks guys for the help. sarcasmo is reply helped me alot. i read my owner's manual about the sunroof and there was a "auto" override. haha! "hold the close botton for 3 sec, wait for a sec, hold it for 10 sec or so, window should be back to normal" and wala~! thing works! i think there was something stuck there, cuz when it started to move, there was a "CRUNCH" sound...

had my car for 2 years and i still havent finished reading my manual ahaha! thanks ALOT guys~!!

Be careful not to force it closed. They have been know to shatter given enough force.
It sounds like it's binding either from an obstruction, bent tracking, or skewed glass.
I agree with Tinman's solution, that you should try to carefully open it again, and retry closing. Failing that, get it into the shop for adjustment, and cover it in the meantime or get it inside somewhere to keep it dry.

I always thought that the difference between a moonroof and a sunroof was that one was glass and the other solid (metal). Thoughts?????

I'm still not clear as to the difference between a sunroof and a moonroof.. I always thought they were the same thing, just personal preference.. what do you mean it goes inside/outside??

He means it opens by sliding at an angle outside the car (old style cars 90's) and the other, slides into the ceiling of your car.

Thanks for clearing it up. It makes sense now. My mother's Lexus ES300 came equipped with a "moonroof" and it does slide up and out in an angle.

look in the manual. there's a procedure there to reset the sunroof mechanism if this happens.

I'm still not buying that inside/outside thing. That came about as cars got smaller and they couldn't spare the interior room to have the roof slide into hiding. How does that make it a sun or moon roof? I think the ability to see thru it makes more sense. Cause before they were glass, they were just sheet metal.

Googling the question, they all come up with the same answer. Sun=solid. Moon=glass (coined by Ford). None reference wher the roof retracts to.
