damn dealer didnt replace my brake pads!!

My brakes squeel like crazy at every stop so I finally got the car into the dealer to have them do warranty brake stuff

Called me saying my car is ready and they didnt replace any of the pads!!
Said theres 30% in the front and 70% in the back
70 in the back is fine but god damnit, they should have replaced the front pads that are making all the damn noise. They said they wont do it until its 20%.
So I guess my only choice now is to keep abusing my brakes so the pads wear quicker (shouldnt be hard to do )
Its downright embarassing to have brakes squeel like that

So Id just like to send a big FSCK YOU out to Infiniti of South Bay

Anyone else been gypped like this?

the noise is probably due to the loss of grease on the shim plate. Infiniti dictates the replacement limit.. its something like 3mm. Your issue is with ICA, not the dealer. I had to run another 4 months to get from "30%" like you (also took mine in like you did) until I got to 3mm or less. I decided it didnt matter if I gouged the rotor, so no worries there. Its all on their dime, I just wasted a trip.

If they gave you a new shim kit (as called for), or regreased the shims you have and cleaned everything up, then your pads should be quiet now. Well, for now that is, it will come back quickly. Hell, I have new pads at all 4 corners and it 50% worse with squeal. I got pads, but I think they reused the shims. I also noticed their grease has slung out and ruined the finish on my rims. Enough about my problems tho

The next time some n00b asks the damn question "why don't 05's come with brembo's"...please refer to this post. It's because it cost's infiniti TOO much money to replace them for free and a 5k brake job doesn't exactly appeal to customers either.

Huh? He was talking about brake pads, not the brakes themsleves.

Brakes = 5000$
Brake pads = 300$

From the sound of a lot of these types of posts, I am praying that I don't have to take my car in for any service because the Infiniti dealers seem to be pretty bad.

Weren't they recently rated #1 in customer satisfaction?

My G doesn't have the Brembos, but they have given me a lot of trouble w/ squeaking. I have taken it in about every 9K miles. The first 2 times they gave me new pads and turned the rotors. And the third time, last Monday, they replaced the rotors and pads. I have had a lot of trouble w/ the brakes squeaking in this car, but they have taken care of me every time. I have no complaints. I use Infiniti of Gwinnett out of ATL.

Would replacing the factory pads to something aftermarket like Hawk pads or EBC Greenstuff help with the sqeaking? I've had this problem since 6k miles, 2 trips to the dealer and its still there.

not if its the shims and anti squeal grease causing it... other than the fact that you would do that when changing pads.

Are you saying that the Brake pads and rotors are cover at no charge under Warranty?? If so this is news to me!

I checked my Warranty book and it says nothing about Brake pads and rotors being covered!

Every car I've owned the Brakes were the owners responability!

LMK if I'm wrong I have a 05 Coupe!

Thanks!

It's only covered for the 04's. Not your year.
