Re: Resetting ECU
Not sure about more power bro, but disconnectiong the battery for 12 hrs. will erase any tranny shifting memory. It tends to learn 'soft' shifting.

Re: Resetting ECU
For the effect on shifting, yes, that's the AT. But for MTs, wouldn't there still be some effect with regard to fuel use? I mean, if you're running in low rpms most of the time, isn't the computer going to send a different ratio of fuel to the engine than if you're at the top end? I think this computer tries to give you smooth performance rather than maximum performance, what with it being a luxury car, so it will still resist making abrupt changes to what it's doing if you stomp the pedal.
Mind you, that's just a theory, I don't actually know if there's any relation.

Re: Resetting ECU
Actually GSM, based on what we are finding out about the ECU, this may actually help some of the 6 speed cars. Anyone want to try it and let us know, Sedan and Coupe?

Re: Resetting ECU
That's good news. It must change air & fuel metering, maybe timing and the like.
Someone disconnect the batt. on their 'slow' 6M/T and let us know.
