Whyd they stop the Brembos?
^^well if I were to go on the Audi board and my first post was something that has been covered a million times, Im sure I would get mocked.
Ive only been on this board for about 4 or 5 months and I bet I have seen this thread covered about 25 times. It wouldn't be that big of a deal, but every time it turns into a 10 page thread war between the G's and its getting really old. Just do a search.

I was told that Brembo wanted royalties for brembo equiped G35 coupes. A share in profit for selling off the brembo products...something of that matter. So rather than invest more money into brakes, Nissan invested in their engines. So either way you look at it, brembo brakes or not, the price hike of the G35 was inevitable. I dont know how true this is, it's just what I was told.
Anyways...I dont know what the whole humbug about the brembo brakes are for. It gave 05 G35 owners a bit more freedom in the aftermarket industry. They could get rims that won fit with large caipers or given the choice of a better brake system from stock.
But knowing how Brembo brakes are excessivly used around the globe in racing (on 4 wheels and 2), it was a very effective means of getting my attention. By no means is it capable of stopping like mono-block Brembo calipers in full race trim, but it give you more than enough efficiency for use on Track Days. After driving both a 350Z Enthusiast and the G35, the 350Z would only need a good set of aftermarket metallic pads, S/S or Kevlar (or a hybrid of both) brake lines, and ghetto fab up some dryer ducts to cool off the brakes, to stop at the same frequency with the G35 on Brembo brakes. It's a helluva lot cheaper than buying a used set of brembo brakes from a Track Edition 350Z or 03/04 mt/6 G35 coupe.
