seriously, though... I was running 13.8's pretty consistently before the headers and rear end swap (at Baytown, TX, pretty close to sea level, but ~85-90 deg - I was using some old, worn-out slicks off a mustang and could STILL only hit high 2.0, low 2.1 60' times) - I'm sure with a nice set of 16" drag radials under the same conditions, I would run 13.5's or better at ~104 (I was at 102.1 before) - N/A AND AUTO - WHAT!

I've lined up with two s2k's at the track and one on the street (none stock) and none of them stood a chance (I think all of them jumped on me too, because I couldn't get traction for **** - now I'm running 285's, so it would be even worse for them)

I drive a G35c, S2000 (which is extreamly CLEAN to begin with by the way) and I have a few little side project car's that I play with in my spare time..now how exactially am I a ricer?? You don't even know the true meaning of the word and your gonna throw it out there! Lol, You don't want to argue cause you have nothing else "intelligent" to say, because you don't know anything about racing in the 1st place, or other car's for that matter! It's sad that you think your "sedan" with a 14.5 1/4 mile time is fast! And will take out s2000's!! hehe, Please...you drive a luxury "SEDAN"!! Go have some kid's and drive them to soccer practice 1st, before you race in a G35 sedan! If you want to talk shyt and say how FAST your car is, then why did you buy a G35s??!! Why not a used vette or something for the same price? Just think, if you throw a turbo on your car you can "WOOP",,, every S2000 on the road, and be called a cool guy! Is that what you want DOOD?! I know it is!

 

That's some pretty ricey math, Bin77. You should have shot footage of all of this for it to be believed, as opposed to just saying it after you get called out on these issues. It's hard to take your word without proof, but that's not really the point.

The point is, you seem to be a very proud Honda owner, which is fine, who is pig-headedly and stubbornly defending a race video that seems to have several flaws. If a G owner brought a video of a modified G, single driver, beating a stock S2K w/ passanger, camera, and who knows what else, I would imagine your cronies would take more offense than the people on this board have.

Please take your debates to your Honda forums and let us have our G forums.

if you call him a ricer, i guess all of you guy are ricers too. point is...hes not a ricer. G35's are lux coupe with a nice powerband and good handling characteristics. They are not however, the worlds fastest cars etc. if some of you guys recall correctly, i posted about a year ago on this forum after i ran my buddy "kwakman00" (03 6spd coupe) and beat him form a dig in my audi. they people misinterpreted me as being a jackass and pretty much took offense. then i met some of yall at lacr. most noteably "randy's g" we raced at lacr a couple times, i had the quicker time by .4 secs but he had the better reaction time so we called it even. anyways my point is....you folks bought the g35 because it has sports car performance while having a lux interior. S2000's are straight performance oriented roadsters. they aren't even in the same category and the fact the G35 is still close in performance is a great testament to nissan's recent resurgence as performance automobile makers. so its good to see it being discussed but dont flame on people by making outrageous claims like how a 04 sedan will beat a s2k, and your comeback is calling the s2k driver a ricer.
With that said, whos got high mileage g35's and what problems, if any, have you guys had with it. im in the market for a new car and these 2 cars are on my list. TIA

 

what's up with all the flaming? can't we all just get along? all this hostility and honda trash talking is really making us g owners sound arrogant. audi_2_7t has some really good points. it annoys me how everyone uses the "it's a driver's race" excuse. that doesn't really mean much. just measure the car and not the driver. i'd like to see a g sedan try and beat an s2k more times than not.

 

Why would he need to lie??? Do you guys understand that he OWNS both cars? Its really not that hard of a concept to grasp. He didn't even start the thread. He jumped into it when people started assuming about what happened in the video.

I'm sorry, but even IF the G had a 140lbs person in it, it still doesn't make up a 3 car length difference. And I say IF cuz of the stuff that was taken out of the G, and the extra weight the S2K carried as well. But since the video had SOOOOO many flaws, it doesn't even have to based on that. On paper the S2K is faster. Whats been said all along is that nobody doubts the guys that have beat an S2K, but you werent supposed to. Its like saying yea a G can beat a 350Z, BUT its not suppossed to. My best friend beat a MT 350Z in his auto G, but the guy probably sucked at driving. Not to mention the Z wasn't stock, and the G was. Even at that the S2K is still faster than the Z as well. Look guys, it takes a real good driver to drive the S2K. Its not an easy car to drive, or I should say race, properly. And from the video, it seemed like the guy could drive. Not once did I hear him land out of VTEC when he shifted, and he was shifting fast as shyt. Point being, the S2K is a faster car. But does it really matter???

 

Yeah, but the S2000, which can pull a 13.8-13.9 shouldn't put three cars on a car that can pull 14.0-14.2 in stock form with a good driver. Were talking tenths of a second here and three cars lengths does not equate to .3-.4 tenths. Obviously, there's more to the video than meets the eye like extra weight in the G35, modded S2000, etc. I'm not saying the S2000 ins't a faster car, but your video does not prove it is. All it proves is that a modded S2000 can beat a G35c with a passenger. Tell you what...race again and this time put the camera man in the S2000. That would shut most of naysayers up.

Hey all i know is the guys thjat i know with 6mt coupes "national g club" would have ate that s 2000.I know my car would.Stock.It sounded like a auto coupe.The s2000 is much lighter than the g also.

 

Nah, the G in the vid was a 6MT, you can tell in the tach it doesn't have the auto tranny gear # display.

The S2K win's most of the races..however past 130mph the 350 starts to pull.

Now someone here please tell me that the G35 is faster then the 350Z stock! Cause like I said, it's a closer race between these two, then the S2K and G35...

Why is it so difficult to believe that the G lost to the S2K for some of you?? Because you once beat one?? That doesn't mean the G is faster. Just b/c you beat one, doesn't mean your car is faster then all that rolled off the factory floor.

And to use the weight, the S2K mods, and the camera man as an excuse?? So what, the G driver obviously agreed to those conditions before they ran. The G driver doesn't know how to drive?? How would any of us know? What's next, the G lost because he probably had a full tank of gas??
