After all, I paid $235 on purpose because they were a reputable place.
From what i have been able to gather usually the installer will put a piece of black vinyl there since the dots cannot be tinted over without any bubbles. But i'm not 100% on that. I'll be getting tints soon though

I got my windows done on Saturday. I got them to install a black vinyl strip on the top 4 inches of the back 4 windows. I've called a bunch of shops and read on some tint forums and you pretty much have to live with the bubbles on the dots or get vinyl. The guys that use the glue on the dots to make it look good void the warrenty of the film from what I understand. Some guys sand the dots too, but I was worried about it getting messed up.

Would anyone know where I can buy that vinyl strip and install it myself?

Talking

1,,get a heat gun
2. get a squee gee
3. from outside heat the window a little to warm tint
4. squeegee the tint between the dots dont squeegee too hard though.

try it it works. just get tint to stick betweenthe dots.

take your time and be patient espescially with the heat gun.
two people is easier one insde the car the oter outside with the heatgun.

They're supposed to provide a little added shade for the noggins of your back seat rideers.

I got my tints done back in May in Long Island and the guy did an EXCELLENT job.. the tint is cut like 1mm away from the edge of the window and the whole back window is stuck on with no bubbles near the dot matrix.. the tints I got though are not reputable like Llumar or Solar Gard.. they are from a Canadian manufacturer that boasts their films have heavier amounts of adhesive. At first I didn't like my tints but now I really like them.
