ECU Reset works...sort of

ECU Reset works...sort of
I finally got the ECU reset method down. The part missing from the FAQ was holding down the clutch before turning to the ON position. I hold it down the entire time but not sure if that's necessary. Anyway, my butt dyno said WOW it pulls much better on the low end now. Sounds meaner too. But here's the problem. About 10 minutes of driving and all of a sudden the car felt sluggish again. Anyone else experience the short term memory ECU?

RR, That's a great opportunity to see how the new 'easy reset' works. We desperately need your feedback on it. It's easy and quick and would be a big help, bro. Then if you feel the need, go ahead and do the familiar 12 disconnect.
In case you missed the post, it seems that you need to depress the clutch while doing the easy reset, (same as if you're starting the car) and don't forget to time the 'cycles' accurately. It's fussy and needs to be timed accurately. I think you'll like the results. Thanks bro. Would be a big help.

OK...exact same impressions as you Sexxay...at first i thought WOW FEELS MUCH BETTER, CRISPY SHIFTS, NICE REVS, then after a couple of miles, engine all warmed up now, didnt feel as crispy.....so i unplugged the battery just now, we'll see what happens with that.
By the way GSM... i got it on my first try LOL wasnt that hard, sheesh!

Hmmm...15 hours of unpluggitivity... just went out for a drive... verdict... i see very little change from my butt-dyno. The only slightly noticable difference is the minutely improved throttle response (for those who don't know me, you should know that my only pet-peive with the G, is the drive-by-wire throttle lag).
So yes, resetting the ecu does yield a slight change with the 6MT. Dont get me wrong, there still is throttle lag, just not as much.

Probaly not worth having to reset all your radio stations and clocks. No proof yet either, that this isn't just a mental thing. Notice your car always feels faster too right after a good car wash? I'd be interested to see some dyno results or 1/4 slips to confirm the efffects of this.
