6th Gear

6th Gear
Anyone ever wondered why the 5th gear is so short? I mean, for highway cruising, i would expect 6th gear going at 3,000 rpm to be faster than 120 kmph or 75 mph.
My WRX which had 5 gears did the same (3k rpm = 75 mph). Other cars I've noticed, can go 75mph at only 2,000rpm.
I take there's no easy way to change this? Just wondering 'cuz 90% of my driving is done on the highway.

For the VQ35DE's engine size/power, it could easily provide the necessary pull to hold 2500 RPM's at 80 MPH.
Hell.. I can cruise easily at 40 MPH in 6th gear without bogging if I'm going a constant and consistent speed on a back road.
