Re: Ticket For windows???

iv had plently experience with cops and i normally cooperate with them but this guy is a dick, iv been pulled over 14 times, two of which i was going 95 in a 70 and 95 in a 55 got off, all times, except for the recent ones, cop pulled me over for not stoping, took it to court and won, second cop pulled me over for speeding, had the sheriff talk to him and told him not to show up, and won, and pulled over for speeding again, havent had the court date for it yet, but its the same cop that now gave me the ticket for my windows, and he just wanted to be a dick to me so i was a dick back, I know what works with cops and doesnt and nothing was gona work with this Officer

Re: Ticket For windows???

When you put the tint on you knew it was illegal. But instead of taking your medicine and paying the ticket, your going to take a cop off the streets and waste taxpayers dollars in court. No matter what any one on this board says, you broke a law.
It amazes me that people have zero respect for cops until they need them. When was the last time you were willing to die for someone you never met? Cops die every day protecting people like you. Have a little respect.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a stupid law, and I've gotten plenty of tickets for tint ( and wasn't happy about any of them). I just think that if your going to take the chance you should be willing to pay the ticket.

Re: Ticket For windows???

Is it really worth all of this hastle to have a window tinted?? Why give the police any reason to stop you?? At best, it will be a big inconvenience for you, not the cops; at worst the sky is the limit when dealing with the police.
This is why I put an almost clear Huper Optic film on my doors. It cuts almost 50% of the heat, cops will not notice it, and it is actually legal in California. The side rear and back window have a typical darker tint (also Huper).

Re: Ticket For windows???

The law is there for a reason............although it may be of inconvenience for some, this was an addition to the vehicle code because of safety for the police officers. There have been numerous cases where officers were shot because they weren't able to see the driver or passenger while walking up to vehicles.

When pulled over, don't try to suck up nor should you be rude. I have friends that are officers and one thing they tell me they hate about pulling people over is when they begin lying to them.

So, if it's there to protect the cops, they shouldn't give you a ticket when you have your windows rolled down. I think a polite cop would recognize that.

Re: Ticket For windows???

i got a quick question...ive heard that if you get some sort of a letter from a doctor saying you have sensitive eyes and need the tint to reduce the sunlight, it is ok to have the tint. Anyone else heard of this?

Re: Ticket For windows???

They're called sunglasses. Or, if they don't feel like dropping $1.50 at a gas station, they have prescription full-coverage glasses that allow you to have tinted peripheral vision for those with xerophthalmia or "Sjögren's Syndrome" (read: sensitive eyes) so they can drive.
If any doctor ever gives a note saying someone needs to tint their car windows because of sensitive eyes, I will personally b*tchslap him and shred his license to practice. And... since it's such a stupid idea, I have no doubt that someone's already done it and it's perfectly legal.

Tint is illegal in some states (Thankfully not mine- 35 on sides, 15 rear window). If you're willing to break the law, just realize there are consequences... Tinting in those states in which it is illegal is a calculated risk. Risk. If I break the law, I must pay for it. It may be a stupid law, but it's a law... call your state legislature and get it changed.
Just my opinion...
