3 or below for daily driving, when it's below 30 degrees, for the first minute or two (after it sits & warms up), i'll shift around 2.5 till the eng temp goes up bit.

To me the engine sounds like it needs to shift around 3.5k .Also some confusion may be the fact that the 4.5 and 05's rev higher then the first coups. Just mt 2 cents though.
I never said I didn't understand anywhere in there, I understand better than you! I said "I see no point", and if I want, I pass all the traffic, just most of my weekly commute, I choose to get my 27-28 MPG... I also drive an 05 (belongs to a good friend) and I shift it the same... I can get 10MPG better than him in his car so some weeks he lets me drive all week... BTW, I can smoke him when we run and most other 6MT drivers when we have run, never lost to a Z either; would probably smoke you too. Maybe it's skills and experience combined with practicality some days and adrenaline other days. Just my 2 cents though.

03-04 coupes... at what rpm do you shift from 1st to 2nd during races? i usually redline it and go into 2nd somewhat easy so that my rear doesnt spin out. but a professional race car driver told me to shift at 5.8-6k rather than redline (6.5). i tried that and i can floor it going into 2nd and not spin out and just get a nice chirp instead. his arguement is to shift a bit early because the power decreases right b4 redline.

I thought these cars made peak HP around redline? And shifting early can cause your car to fall out of its peak HP band, these cars have enouph tq to pull out of it.. but take it to the track and see what works the best.

Im usually around 3-4.. shifting at 2.5 makes me feel like grandma... why buy a car like this to shift at 2.5 all the time!! Hearin this car sing through the gears is very amusing, and after driving a 94 Lightning for the past 2 years anything is better than 9MPG.

I used to yell at my dad when I was little cause they bought an 89 Maxima SE brand new and he drove it like grandpa.. "Dad this is the 4 door sports car, get on it" haha.. ok give me a break I was 10 at the time!
