i get close to 20.xx-21mpg mixed driving calculating from the pump on my cellphone calculator. usually, the navigation is a little optimistic by a few tenths. this is my '05 6sp manual trans. perhaps i'll get an Ztube/k&n filter to see if that helps. i've heard big gains up to 2mpg. i'll have to test it out.

DONT DO THIS. it is very dangerous to be driving down the highway with no control over your car. Of course, you can slam on the brakes, but do not put it in neutral. Getting good mileage is a lot more about throttle position that rpm's. For the same reason, dont have the car in too high of a gear, which requires you to give it more gas to maintain the same speed as a lower gear. Basically, how far you're pushing your foot, is how much gas you're using...

I've hit 25-26mpg going 100% freeway from Los Angeles to San Jose. Our tanks are actually 20 gallon tanks

I agree. You always want to be in a gear that gives you the ability to power out of a jam. The half sec it takes you to go from neutral to some gear could be the differance between a close call and an accident.

I normally get 300-325mpg in my 05 Auto Sedan. That's with a 16-17gallon fillup.

I have a 2003 stock sedan and get 17-19 in the city. I just got 25.5 mpg on a 280 mile highway trip with the cruise set at 80.

Update: Two days later I returned on the same route. Cruise set at 82 with light rain and a small head wind and got 21 mpg.

I'm shocked to hear about the gas mileage. I had a 350Z and averaged 24 mpg between city and highway. On highway trips I could easily get 29 - 31mpg

I have an 05 Auto Coupe.
I don't let it drop to dry empty, and usually fill up when the light comes on, so I never pushed it to the max. When I fill up I have around 350-370. The light comes on half way down the last quarter of the tank, so I assume that I can get over 400, I just don't want to push it.
I don't drive hard, and have only about 5k miles on it.

This is on 30city/70hwy.
