Uncomfortable drivers seat!!!

Well, like I said I'm 6'2" and 205lbs. The coupes have better bucket seats but the sedan is better for bigger guys like me and you (Sickone). I got the 4dr over the coupe for about 75% of the reason because it had a bigger head room, and the other 25% was merely insurance. I'm still young and I guess State Farm charges a lot more for coupes with 20 more HP.

Hate to bring this up again but just wanted to thank everybody for all the info. on this topic. Had a friend who used to do interiors shave off the bracket, add padding to bottom cushion, and he reattached the controls to the side. Looks factory can't really see a lot of difference but it feels 100% better. Just drove two days 40 miles each way no more leg or hip pain. If any body in so.cal doesn't feel like doing it themselves he said he would do it for anybody for about $35 an hour. He did mine in about 2 hours from start to finish. If interested pm me and I can set it up.

First post.. Glad i am not alone @ the painful drivers seat. Have had my 2005 G35 for 1 month with @3K mi. now. Im 37, 6 feet tall and @ 180. I just cannot get the seat comfortable no matter how many adjustment combos i've tried, but I do not have the right leg pain issue at all. It is significant lower to upper back pain depending on which seat position I have tried, and started occuring after driving the car for a couple days. Took her in to the upholstery shop (that infiniti recommeded) and while they did rebuild the seat to the best of my specifications, it was just ergonomically ridiculous-- i was seated too high and the back padding kindof lessened the side bolstering so that i kindof slid around even in slow turns. So, I had them return the seat to stock. I have been patienty waiting to get used to this seat because of course I love the car otherwise, but I am @ 90% sure I'll need to trade this car for a big loss.

Hi There
I am sorry about your situtation. My 05 is been "ok" to say the least. I have not taken long trip with it but i struck in horrible traffic all the time. BTW is yourrs a manual? I have an automatic. Not sure if it matters. Also before you do that how about adding a seat cover? The racing covers are really comfortable. If not maybe consider buying aftermarket seats. $700 is better than $5000. Do you also have the sport suspension? That will also contribute to the problem.

Sorry for every one that has leg/thigh pain. I ordered my 05 6mt after taking a 04 6mt for a test drive. Upon waiting for delivery I began to read about the infamous leg pain issues. And I dreaded delivery day because I could also have the leg issue also. The car now has approx 500 mi and no probs to date. I do look everyday to see leg pain is going occur. By the way I am 6ft and #215 and drive about 25mi to work. I will report back when I go to DC next month.

I have an 04 sedan and have had it since Feb 04, so 1 year. I have 12500 miles on her.I don't have any major problems with the seat. I am5'7" and weigh about 195 lbs. While the seat is not as supportive as my wifes Audi A4, it is a f***K of a lot faster. I'll settle for a seat that is not quite perfect for an engine/trans handling package that is!! My G makes me smile.

I finally took the time to read all ( most/some
) of these posts and, quite frankly, it amazed me. I sold close to two hundred G's (sedans and coupes) and RARELY heard a complaint. And, trust me when I say that my customers were never to shy to complain if there was an opportunity/reason... (human nature combined with todays guarded consumerism lol
) For the VERY first time, I guess, being 6'5" and 185lbs. is some sort of advantage for me cause' I'm snug as a frigg'n bug and could drive all day long.....Must suck to have an average as5
Just kidding (kinda) and I hope you all get your "seats"
get taken care of soon.

Leave it to the newbie to kick up semi-old threads.
I am looking into leasing an '05 G35x with navi + Premium Package C for 36 months.. I have not test driven the car yet (although coming from a 97 Legacy, anything is an upgrade) but I am very concerned about this seat issue. I do real estate tours that are 100-150 miles each and long term seat comfort is a must. I'm hoping I am not affected by this seat issue since the only other car that I like in this range is the Volvo S40 T5 AWD and would much rather take the V6 over the T5. Did Infiniti change the seats at all for 2005?
