Comparison: 03/04 Sedan vs. 05/06 Sedan

Ok Ive done searches for this topic for the past few days and cant find anything. Im looking for the differences between the 2 different styles. I know they are things like hood/lights/grill/front and rear bumper but as I look at pictures I cannot actually see what the difference is. It may be me but for some reason the 05/06 model appears to be more sporty looking. Is there anyone out there with pictures of the two? Like a front shot of both style cars, side shot and rear shot??? By the way...yes I am new here. Im 25 and just got my sedan back in Feb. and just recently came across this site. THere are many nice rides in here and I have not seen one yet that has that ricer appearance. Anyway back to the topic at hand...thanks for the help fellas.

what makes u thing they are different (HUGE DIFFERENCES !?) in terms of horses... you are just like those sales people who either dunno cars or they just use their mouth for a living

IMO
The biggest difference you will find are:

1) nicer and more solid interiors
2) better body lines
3) a revup engine avaiable for the 6mt guys (that has a bit more tuning potential IMO)
4) a better sounding exhaust

Here are some of the major ones.

Engine:
03/04: 260HP/260TQ (underrated in my opinion but that is another thread)
05/06: 280HP/280TQ AT -or- 298HP/270TQ (a little overrated but a nice improvement in my opinion but again another thread)

Exhaust:
Don't know, I changed my to the Borla because neither had what I wanted.

Interior:
03/04: Titanium look trim including sides and cubby of center dash (for non-navi), different clock location, only 5 fan speeds, smaller sunglass holder (good spot for Zeitronix, not for sunglasses),
05/06: Brushed aluminum trim with more black.

Exterior:
-Hood:
03/04: slight bulge in hood with 2 lines
05/06: single line in hood
-Headlights:
Search for pics (I perfer the 04's with demon eyes but would take coupe projectors over both if they would fit)
-Other:
The 05+ has a much better looking standard front end and is even better with the lip. The 03/04 Nismo is hot but costs extra. The 05+ has color matched sides and rear that are a little more aggressive as where 03/04 is flat black and looks like crap.

So true.

Once people start running better than 14.2-14.3 in stock 05+ 5AT g35 sedans, then I'll believe the 05+ 5AT is actually making 20hp more than my 03.

Either way it is an awesome car and we need to stick together. Remember, we are the minority here.

Well, let me give you my .02 here. I liked my '04, but I traded mainly for the improved '05 brakes, but.......all the other things that changed make me like my '05 much more. the brakes, clean wheels........the more aero looking lower sills the '05 is sleeker looking...........the interior..........the power tilt/telescoping wheel with memory in the Premium package.........the brushed aluminum on the console and the door handles, as well as in the dash is much nicer than the plastic on the '04.......no seat noise after a year...........the difference in the exhaust note.......I also like the afterburner tailights better as well. I did notice some difference in the power at first, but I think the '03 '04 may have been underated for some reason. Look at an '03 parked next to an '05, the difference is there.

I agree with almost all those. There were some big improvements from 04 to 05 that would have been nice to have. I changed my brakes (BBK), exhaust (Borla), and added the Nismo body kit. I also have the 05 tails with GTR overlays so I can't argue those points. The 03 tails were awesome when they first came out but now the 4 runner, civic, accord and other have the same style LED's which sucks. As for the interior I like the telescoping wheel but I still like the old titanuim look dash better. I don't like all the black or brown plastic you end up with on the new one.

My '04 was graphite inside, but the entire dash was black, console included, so in comparison, my '05 with the aluminum is much nicer.

+1. I've owned both an '03 and now an '05 and the difference in interior quality and BRAKES are day and night. The body sides, front and rear are fully painted so it looks a lot cleaner. The exhaust was changed completely except for the Ypipe.

Did I mention the '05 has better brakes with virtually NO BRAKE DUST or noise?

CONS: limited aftermarket bodykits
