You should monitor your rotors to see if they start scoring. You should be able to look thru your wheels to see them. You can also touch the rotor with your hands to make sure they are smooth. Just make sure the car is cold as you don't want to burn your hands when touching the rotors.

most likely the brake pads but i would have to hear the noise . When brake pads wear down there are little clips behind them make a scratching/grinding sound when u brake to let u know u need new pads.

Your pads could be about gone.
A rotor could be wearing out.
Your pads may be dirty.

It could still be the pads. I was getting the same grinding and my rotors were scored. The pads were still good so they just cut my rotors the first time. Within 1000 miles it was happening again and the rotors were scored again. They then replaced the front pads and rotors and after another 1000 miles it happened again. It seems the since the pads are semi metallic, they sometimes will cut into the rotors which of course creates a safety issue since the rotors aren't completely smooth although the dealer tells you that its normal and fine to drive with. Just another reason why I'll never get another Infiniti.

It could be as simple as climate. What has your weather been like? Lots of rain?Hot and humid? It could simply be oxide build up. That well defenitely wear off....quickly.Does noise this happen every time you apply the breaks?? If it does, well, you need new callipers. You already have new rotors and pads..process of elimination.

I'll often hear a scraping sound from the brakes (not unique to the G, BTW) the first time I use them in the morning after it rains, as the pads scrape the light corrosion off the surface of the rotor. Second time I press the brakes, no noise. Is that possibly what you're hearing?

If you do touch your rotors, do not use your base hands
