New Owner, What do I want?
New Owner, What do I want?
I just got my '04 sedan yesterday. I've waited to long to add some new things to it.
What should I look to add? Ground wires? ECM? Supercharger? Lower it? Gialla Ground effects kit? Ingen intake? K&N? Change the grille? Did I miss anything?
Also, what size rims will fit? I have the sport suspension. I want diameter and width front and rear.
Thanks for the help guys.

Re: New Owner, What do I want?
I say add a driver, you!. I wouldn't mod anything until you get a feel for the car. After about 5000 miles of driving you will be able to make a better decision on what to modify and what not to modify.

What's your budget? Assuming $1000, my vote would be Crawford Plenum, Injen CAI or Stillen airbox, Eibach springs, clear corners.
If you want to go with 18" wheels then 235/45/18 is an exact height match, with 225/45/18 or 245/45/18 being the next closest. 18x7.5 or 18.8 width.

Re: New Owner, What do I want?
Thanks for the replies. I really don't have a top end budget, though I am saving for a house. I will be driving the car all over Florida for business. Its an auto. If it were the fun car, no offense but it would probably be a manual coupe. However, I need to be able to carry 4 adult makes comfortably. I like high performance and plan on changing out the tires and rims when these are worn out. Figure, 6 months? I get paid by the mile and gas is on me so I don't want to kill the economy. As to performance, getting another 50-100 hp is about right. I just don't want to loose to any civics, etc. no matter what they've done. The vette's running around 350 hp now and it seems about right for this car. I'm going to stroke the vette to a 396 with 500+ RWHP Naturally aspirated with hydraulic lifters on pump gas so I don't need this to be my rocketship. Don't want it too loud, again that's the vette. This needs to be refined.
To give you some idea about what I like though, the vette has Hal QA1 shocks, Power effects exhaust, $10,000 Nakamichi CD system, 17x9.5 front and 17x11 rear chrome 5 spoke rims, GM rear fender flaresto fit the tires), Single mass aluminum flywheel, spec stage III ceramic clutch, hurst short shift, K&N, lowered, camber brace, Z06 Brakes, Hawk Pads, Upgraded top with glass rear window and defroster, etc. Good stuff. The object was to improve the platform for big power and then add the motor which is the reverse of what alot of other people do. I'm getting the stroke job and a rear installed next, as well as a hard roof so I can bring it to the track. The hard roof incorporates a roll bar. We're shooting for low 11s.
I have a warranty for 100K, so that should be dead in a couple of years. I'm newly relocated to Florida from NY so I won't need to worry about snow or potholes. Hope that covers questions past and future. Thanks again.
Rims and intake are on the list. How about the ECM ground or dual exhaust?

What? Can't hear you!
Its about $4,000 in equipment and 60 hours of install time. Where I used to install, they charged $100 an hour for my service so that's where $10k comes from. Someone who walks into the store and says give me what he's got pays $10k. Its good to know installations. It had the Bose system in it. From my new G with Premium Package I found out that Bose has improved little in 12 years. No highs no lows, must be bose. Bose stands for Buy Other Stereo Equipment. To bad I had to blow $900 on something I didn't want. What a joke automaker stereos are. Anyway, I will eventually rip out that rotten tooth, but how about some other options. I'm hoping to get the car pulling in the .95+G range if possible and mid 13s quarter without loosing its refined qualities. The vette is the harsh car. I have the monster stereo in there because its a convertable and without it you can't hear $hit.
Thanks
Also, will the phenum void the warranty?
