i actually got a copper washer free of charge just by asking my local infiniti parts department... i thought they charge like 50 cents for that thing at nissan parts dept... i didn't change it during the 3rd oil change though but the nissan quicklube changed it for me this time so i got the copper washer as spare for next diy oil change.

I change the oil myself in the garage. I hate having strangers touch my car.

The better question is who has ramps that don't need 2x4s in order not hitting the bumper?

Low profile ramps is what I need.

I got the $30 plastic ramps from pep boy a few years back and they have been great. I was able to get a maxima lowered on teins s techs on them. I plan on using the z/g spring combo in the future and from where my G sits now, it looks like there is plenty of room. They also sell an attachment that slows the rate of the increase but I have not needed it yet.

This link may time out but in the case it does, they also carry them at advance auto. You can see them on partsamerica.com, part number 11905. They do not show the accessory for it but the store had them last time I was in. Pep Boys had these for $35 last time I saw.

I wonder how those cencor ones would do? Mine tend to slip so that extra flat pad might work out well. I wish they had the dimensions

check the link i posted. the fram toughguard may be better but the regular fram filters are pretty poor quality compared to most Wix, Mobil1, etc.

I got my oil at walmart. The 5 qt jugs are nice. But considering I too was lazy and got the filter there, you should have got the ST filter instead.

fram filter and m1 oil for $42??? dang that's expensive...

napa pro gold filter is only 7 and change at napa...
5 quart jug is 22 and change at the nearby walmart...

even with taxes it's still under $35.... you got overcharged on one of those items...

To change my oil, I took two sections of 1.5' 2X10 boards and cut the edges of the boards at 45 degrees. I then joined the boards together with a section of 2X8 and made myself a very short ramp. Even on the Z springs, I have enough room to undo all the splash guard bolts and slide a oil pan under the car. To get the car even to drain all the oil, I simply jack up the car at the rear differential.

BTW, no jacking is necessary to drain and replace the differential oil.

What is the best syn oil? I notice that the Infiniti dealer changes with Castrol but sounds like most people like to use the Mobil 1. And do you prefer the Mobil 1 advanced, the one that says it can go 15,000 miles?
