2004+ G35's have a access hole for the oil filter and oil plug. Both of mine had one.

As for going to Synthetics, lots of people reccomend running petroleum based oil for the first so many thousand miles or so, then moving to synthetics later. When I talked to a couple of the Nissan engineers (Mike Kojima who some of you may know from some other nissan sites, and some other guy) at the Turbonetics open house a while ago, he said 1000 miles would be sufficient before making the switch. I've heard people saying to wait longer, like 10,000 miles before changing to synthetics. The engineer I talked to just made it a point to make sure you change your oil before you go the track, not after. You want the oil in its best shape when your engine is under stress. Street driving is so much less taxing on the engine that it can deal with "worn" oil.

First time...
Hey all,
I'm about to change my oil for the first time - no it's not my first oil change but it is the first time I'm doing the work! I'm actually installing the AAM oil pan spacer kit so I can hold 6 quarts, and will be changing the oil at the same time.
I plan on ordering a dozen or so copper washers from here:
http://www.infiniti-parts.com/catalo...l=&cat=filters
Seems like it's a bit cheaper than buying from the dealer - not to mention the closest dealer is 31 miles away...
Anyway, I was wondering if there's a torque specification for the oil pan drain bolt? Just figured it'd be good to know before getting under the car tomorrow.
Thanks!
Brian

^^ Definitely man, as I can attest to it. Changed the oil the other day, and there must have been at least ten 10mm bolts to remove the splash guard. The guard is held by a center plastic push pin piece, and I tried to take it off with my flathead but couldn't do it so I just twisted the guard 180 degrees to allow enough space to drain the oil and get to the filter.
Ironically, the hardest part in changing the oil was getting the car up on the Rhino ramps. I was originally working at my condo parking lot, but the ground surface was kinda smooth which caused my ramps to drag along as I tried to drive up the ramps. So I had to find another parking lot with a rougher/harsher ground terrain so that the ramps would hold and stick while driving up
