My car averages 20.8 mpg, city/highway, over the last 32000 miles. Highway ranges from 22.5-26, depending on how I drive and wind speed/direction.

I would have traded a little power for better gas mileage, but I bought the car because it appealed to me.

10% Ethanol Blended Gas will reduce MPGs by ≈ 10%. And make sure you are not comparing your observed Mileage in your G with the EPA estimates of other vehicles.

as far as my g-tech,,its the old version and i have found it to be very accurate. tested the 325 with it got 15.15 1/4 mi ,went to the track with the 325.,,, got 15sec flat......i have drag slips too for those interested//
maybe my g35 has something wrong with it since its that slow
it does have a check engine light on, but its only do to some emission crap, has somehting to do with the vapor,, i was told it does not effect cars performance at all

i did not know that ethanol blend wil get better gas mileage,,,,Thank for that tip,, il try that..

He didn't say it would IMPROVE MPG, but that it would descrease MPG.

His point was that maybe the gas you're already using is a blend.

Driving 80 mph on the freeway with a few trips to 90 while passing an idiot on the cell phone, I usually get 22-23 mpg. When going 65 and driving conservative, I have hit 25-28 depending on how hilly the freeway is. Mixing city in with freeway I get about 18mpg, but I am pretty heavy on the throttle.

My city is 15mpg when I am hammering the throttle constantly or driving in heavy traffic. If I cruise the speed limit and don't hit too many lights, I can get 18-20 mpg.

You must be driving hard.

I don't know what to tell you, if your full throttling it from every light and getting 15 you can't expect much more from a 3500lb car with a 3.5 liter v6. You should get a sti or evo8, you can probably get some more punch for your dollar there. More power with some what equivalent fuel economy.

I would be happy with the 15mpg you're getting. I get 10 even if I try! Also, getting 15 is not far off from the EPA rating, so I dunno what you're still b!tching about. We get it, it suks, other cars get better mileage... maybe you should stick to them.

Maybe you could get that check engine light looked at again, get a second opinion. If your emissions are faulty, your engine could be running rich.

Be sure you are buying the most expensive gas (not diesel)

Don't worry about the disappointment, I almost didn't buy my G when I read a review that averaged 18 actual MPG on their test drive. But I knew what to expect when I got that sweet ride. 18 MPG is exactly what I'm getting in the city, on a long trip down south I did as well as 26 (no ethanol down there, and close to sea level!)

After you get the check engine light taken care of, get a dyno tune, a chip, or new ECM. I read somewhere (it was a catalog, mind you, and yes, they were selling something) that the G runs extremely rich after 5k rpms, losing power as well as fuel. So you may try driving below 5k in the meantime, see if that improves.

Hope that helps...

(Beware the lies of the G-tech)

Well, dyno-tuned by an expert in the field is what I mean. It's just one of your many options to maximize the performance of your G.
