Unbelievable traction in snow/ice covered roads! I strongly recommend these tires (17" directional) to anyone who values their life and drives in snow. The car handles better than my friend's TSX with all season tires. They bite and grip better than I expected! Well worth the $$.

just snow...from the Bridgestone website:

The BLIZZAK WS-50 winter tire features an exclusive TUBE MULTICELL® compound developed by Bridgestone to deliver snow and ice performance without studs! And with the addition of UNI-T technology, the BLIZZAK WS-50 helps drivers of imported and domestic sedans, coupes, and sports cars meet the challenge of adverse winter conditions.

+1 for Blizzaks. I had them on my 03 Sedan and loved them. I plan on getting them for my 07 as well.

I have 16" blizzaks too. Got them cheap off ebay from another G owner. Can't wait to put the 17's back on though--the 16's ain't the best lookin' set of rims...

Can someone elaborate on how the switch to winter tires work?

After researching a bit, I believe that there are none that can fit on the stock 18" rims?

Purchase 17" wheels and tires and swap out each season. Easier, and saves potential damage to your rims from 2X/year remounting.

+1 on that. Better to get a whole separate set of rims/tires than to use one set of rims with both sets of tires. I got my 16" ones with tires off ebay for $500 shipped, and it's well worth the money...
