Good oil filters for a nice price.

Just receieved some Napa gold oil filters from www.fleetfilter.com

I ordered the 51356 maxima version as it's slightly longer. Price is only $4.31 each. Shipping for 6 was about $11. No tax. So cost was actually about $6.10 each. If you go to Napa's store, they are $7.10 each + tax. If you order more than 6, of course the price per each would go down.

Napa's gold line is made by Wix, which is a highly respected and proven filter maker. I think this is a great alternative to the $10-$11 Mobil 1 filters/K&N filters I see you guys using.

Also Walmart has Mobil 1 5W30 for $23.xx per 5qt container. Pretty good price vs the $5.xx-$6 per qt prices I see elsewhere. I like the 5qt containers too.

You can if you wish. In fact, one can use anything you like. But I don't think the oem ones were as low as $4.31 each. But these are as good or better than oem IMHO

the oem have cheap fram style cardboard endcaps. i have a few of these left over my maxima but i could stand to stock up. thanks for the link. EDIT-just looked over the site a little more and i did not see where they are the gold filters. i know napa has a cheaper filter that wix also makes, just wanted clarification that they were the gold model.

Good Oil filter...........

About a year ago I went into Kragen auto parts by my house asked the
person behind the counter if he still carried K&N oil filters for my Vet and
G. He came back with both filters and started to ring them up $10 for
the Vets filter and $18 for the G. I asked him why the price of the G filter
was so high and his reply was "It's for an Infiniti!" I told him to keep em!
I go home and look on line under www.k&nfilters.com and I find this company
not to far away and his price is $8 and change for each filter. Plus if I spend
$20 shipping is free so I ordered three and I've been using this company ever
since. Long story short.......I really hate to be taken advantage of ............
"screw Kragen!"

I received the box of them today. They the gold series. You can take off the "5" from the p/n and look on Napa's site

The Mobil 1 is certainly a great filter. IMHO way too expensive.

For some reason I couldn't find the five QT, so I bought the four QT + 1QT, made me second guess myself if a 5QT bottle even exists
