Yeah mine is always in 4th right when I switch over, I wish there was some way around this...

And definitely keep your foot on the gas all the way into 5th, it is designed for that.

Mine matches whatever gear the car is in when in the auto mode.
So if I flick over it to manual, it may say 7 or even 8th gear depending on the speed.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it just limits the maximum gear you're allowing the transmission to shift to, and it's computer controlled. It can down shift on its own (you have it in fourth and come to a stop, it will downshift rather than stall out) but it won't upshift unless you tell it to.

ok ill share since you guys are so funny. i used it rarely until about a year ago when i installed my injen cai and ses. i just couldnt get away from the sound of redline after that. i sold the exhaust but i still love to play with it most of the time.

+1. because of the delay, when im getting on it i shift at 6k because it shifts around 6500-6700 which is the peak of our powerband.

Just keep your foot planted to the floor .. when the tach reads 6k .. upshift ... and when you get the timing down .. you can go a lil past 6k and upshift and you wont hit the rev limiter
+1.

You would only want to do that on the tracks of course!

To fully utilize the MM, make sure you shift to gear 1 in parking lots so you can hear your exhausts...
did this on the way home last night. its even more fun when its wet! (on the track of course) lol

90% of the time, D uses 4th gear. it all depends on your speed. if you try it at slower speeds, you'll see 2nd and 3rd mostly. just a side note, 5th gear kicks in at 120mph.

When your cruising at around 50 and above, and you have it in D it is in 5th gear. The reason when you slap it over to manumatic and it drops to fourth because it is for dropping one gear and passing.

.....I don't. I've never been happy with how it works. Sometimes when I use it, the transmission won't shift, requiring me to select the gear again. !st to second shift is really sluggish and slow, like a slipping clutch then 2nd to 3rd shifts fast and rough. A good idea, a poor execution.
