35% or 20% tints?

I don't have to deal with as many hot sunny days as people in FL or CA (im in iowa, just have hot summers)... but I think my 45% looks good. My buddy has 35% on his black G coupe and it looks good. I didn't feel like I needed it that dark on my ivory pearl sedan.
I don't know how 5% tint is practical at all.. its just insanely dark. How do you see at night?
Here is 45% SunTek Carbon Series Tint.

these people who say 20% is too dark , haven't had it.... i got double limo all the way around on my avalon, and i freakin love it. i love the way people can't see you, they try to be ********* and look in at your face, but you get to watch as they feel dumb b/c they can't see you!!!! also i rarely have problems seeing at night. and the only cop who ever cared was pulling me over for something else, and happened to notice the front windows... i shoulda rolled em down, now i do when i see a cop.... bTW i lost my tint guy who did the illegal for me, anyone know a tinter around Dallas?

it all depends on the law where you live. 20% is good, but is it worth the hassle with the cops and have to pay to take it off just to install 35% which should have been done to begin with, probably not. Some states may have a law that allows you to tint the rears as dark as you want, like most SUV, minivans come with standard (20% in the rear). Check into it. 35% is just fine for a child to sleep in. I have 3 kids I know.
