Are the 5AT's really that much slower??

Don't forget that the 5AT has a TC which is a torque multiplication device which greatly increase launch torque compared to that of the 6MT. The advantage is only momentary, but it's enough to keep the 5AT very competitive from 0-60 and usually gives the 5AT the advantage on the launch.
HMMMM so this TC has nothing to do with the VDC being on or off correct? This is something new, i did not know we had a torque multiplicator ^_^. Muahahaha.... Now i have to figure out how to pull on a 6mt w/o having to go FI.... think think think, no NOS either please.

The only way these slushboxers can beat us is by cheating case closed

When your cornering you can keep both hands on the wheel and the car does everything for you lol

Paddle shifters + regular shifter + D mode + DS mode + Manual mode > shifter + clutch

If you're concerned about corners, then get some paddles. A car with a clutch is does not have any more "control" than a car without a cluch with MM. Period. It's all a matter of preference. If you need a clutch to make you feel more of a man, then fine. But, I'll take my MM AT any day of the week
And I don't lose boost when I shift
There's also a reason why the fastest supras are autos. This thread is pointless.

LmFAo Hey Gotta do what you gotta do.
Wit my old car 300m, i even took on the new m5 for about half of a block, cause he was spinning badly lol, once i saw him flyin up, I just got off the throttle, pulled into a parking spot, and people actually thought i just beat the M5 off the light hahahhaha
But Lower gears I think 5at holds its ground against the 6mt. Mine even pulled up on a 6mt from rollin, he had intake, spacer, exhaust, and HEAVYYYY 20s and subs in the trunk hehe. He said he was at lower RPM. but i was pullin at the end of the gears. Oh well I live in BKLYN NY, and 6mt is not the best choice on daily driving. =X

During an outing at the track back in 2006, there was G35 sedan 6MT running and we compared our slips and even got a run against one another. Our 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile traps were within 1mph and ETs were within .1 seconds, both cars trading between runs Increment by increment, we were neck and neck down the track (14.3-14.4@98mph) Both cars were basically stock unless you consider the Z tube a power adder. The 6MT owner was shocked that the auto was matching his 6MT in both ET and trap. Now above 110mph? I honestly do believe the 6MT will pull, but it's a going to be a very slow pull. There may even be a point in the top of 4th where the 5AT starts reeling back in the 6MT.
