air box mod

yesterday i did the air box mod where you take off the power duct piece and take that weird piece under the air filter both give the air filter more air to breath. i put in a k & n last week and was disappointed cause i didnt hear anything different. so i read a post in the tech and tried it out. It works great you can hear the air filter whistle and really roar at the higher rpms and i bet it will even sound better when i get the z tube. This mod is great for anyone that is leasing cause both pieces just snap right back on.

Re: air box mod

happy you like my mod. proof that engine is injesting more outside air is by all them sand/grit at the bottom of the airbox area that wasn't there before(some official looking photographer snapped a few pics of this mod at the performanc nissan meet)......oh yeah, definately get the z-tube asap, then watch/listen to that whistle go into a mean sounding growl at 4k+ rpm! no joke......if you can prop up the hood, you can do this in 5minutes. cost nada.
now, can someone assist me with posting a pic in my sig? i've asked a few, no one responded yet. not too computer literate, thanks.

Re: air box mod

Hi, The trick with posting pics is they musy be 100K or smaller in size. Perhaps the format you are tring to use is not supported, I always convert to JPEG format before posting. If you are still having difficulties, send it to me and I will be happy to assist.

Re: air box mod

your welcome......i strongly recommend the k&n panel filter if don't have one already, and once the z-tube is installed, watch out.......it's no longer that little oem growl, rather, a growl with some meaning behind it, hard to explain.......enjoy.
