For those who doubt, this kit does make good power and the lag is on par with the turbonetics kit wich isn't that bad. It's a great kit for those who don't mind their car being a bit louder and don't plan to build their motors and go for crazy numbers.

As for the air filter, that one does concern me. Being right there it will get dirty very fast so it will need a lot of attention. I would look into an etting AEM dryflow filter for it since they are a lot less work to clean. Then get a spare so you can clean it monthly or so.

For the water side, this also concerns me somewhat. The turbo will evaporate most of the water since it runs so hot but this can be bad for the seals, etc. I would look into moving the airfilter somewhere else. You could even cut a hole into your spare tire well and mount it inside there.

Yea the placement of the filter makes me very uneasy looking at it. Even though STS insists it shouldn't be a problem at all. Cutting a hole into the spare tire area sounds like a pretty good idea, I just wonder if the filter would stick up enough to prevent the trunk carpet being laid down flat like it's supposed to be.

digital1986 Whats your best estimate on how much it would cost total to put this kit on a coupe. I'm talkin everything, tuning, install, extra parts needed, all of it, the final price.

Well when I was talking with them he did give me a deal at $6200 for the kit, tuning, and install. He thought I had the coupe haha but then I told him again and I went with the z kit and did a couple modifications.

 

These setups are always interesting, but they do make pretty dang good power. If it were me, I'd get a high temp blanket for the exhaust side of the turbo then I'd fab up a sheet metal plate, louver it, and mount it to the lower bumper cover and spare tire well. Then I'd relocate the EVAP canister to inside the trunk and push the vent lines to the stock location (ie vent outside). I'd then take the airfilter and wrap it to the former location of the EVAP canister. Finally, I'd make another louvered panel to protect the air filter. I'd also put the louvers in a rear facing position to keep as much grime and mist away from the turbo and air filter. I'd paint the panels in a high temp flat black, maybe even powdercoat it for longterm durability.

 

If you have the full size spare it would not be a problem at all. You can do a little re-work and have it sit inside the spare wheel. That's on the sedan, I have never seen inside the spare tire area on a coupe.

does that put you at 5-5.2 secs. to 60mph and mid 13s in the quarter

I think you could do a Turbonetics kit with the reflash installed for ~$6000. With a UTEC and custom tune (much better way) figure another ~$1500.
