Do you worry about theft? I may be just paranoid, But people are jerks and I would worry about the location of the turbo.

That's a good point, someone could get that turbo with very little work and turbo's are not cheap!!

They would have to work pretty hard to get it plus I have a sensor mounted down there for my alarm and who is really going to know where that turbo is....... lol

I am an RMT noob as well. First thoughts on my part were that its insane! How could you mount the turbo there? Whether it was the concern with water, and the filter getting super dirty! I mean all these negatives right up front. Reading throughout the thread people have come up with good explanations as to its mount and efficiency. I think its a nice kit, nice and different! Good luck, and lets see those numbers! Congrats, i wish i had TURBO

Reading about this RMT reminded me of another hot rod with a similar set up...http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviatio.../4/1293489.jpg This "new" idea was used sixty six years ago on the P-47 fighters!! Good luck w/the kit.

They have a kit made for the coupe. You can buy the turbo for $5K I think now.

Most every-day people would not know it was there but if you are big in the show and local club scene then lots of willing and able people could know...

As for the remote turbo; I'm shocked at how many people have never seen this before. I've seen these done for years.

Must be nice! I'll be happy to see my car back by mid next week and that is including me taking two days off work to go put in 20 hours+ of my own time to help get it back in!

The air filter concern is valid... I personally would go this route and custom make a pipe routed to the circled area. It looks like an empty space and would still get good air there. You can even cut a couple of louvers in the rear of the fender lining for additional airflow.

Thats a bad angle where they put the filter but as I said remember that pic is not even close to being done and the shield isnt even on. I dont think I will have problems if I do I will tell them to change it. Now lets all move on from the filter problem

with the rear tire kicking all kids of crap directly into the filter ?

seems like a much worse place to me ??

if anything else I'd look into just sticking the filter directly on the turbo inlet

what about a 90* angle going straight up into the trunk above the turbo ? It would be out of the way and not take up any of the spare tire well ??
